O2 Sensor removed - HO2S1 Heater Code
I replaced a stock O2 sensor with an Innovation LC-1 sensor/controller. I put the narrow-band output to the ECU so it would received the signal it was expecting from the old O2 sensor - that worked perfectly. I put the 0-5 v output to my E-Manage Ultimate to be able to graph A/F along with boost, timing, RPM... That worked great also.
So, now I am getting a P0052 code (HO2S1 Heater not working) because the old sensor isn't there anymore. I am thinking of just making a jumper from the existing sensor heater wires in the ECU to the inputs for the sensor I removed. Has anyone else done this/is there an easier way that I am missing?

Ah, not so easy... There is like 6 inches between to top of the CAT and the turbo and that includes the flanges where things are bolted together. I already have 2 sensor welded into those 6 inches. The sensor must be before the CAT and you shouldn't put a sensor any lower than 3 to 9 o'clock on the pipe and they shouldn't be inline. That leaves precious little room with the close proximity of the engine on one side and the body on the other.

Yesterday, I soldered in a jumper in the wiring harness from the O2 Sensor 1 Bank 2 heater signal to the Bank 1 signal on the ECU to fool the ECU into not complaining about the missing heater. I drove around yesterday and all day today and - SUCCESS - no more CEL codes! The missing heater code (P0031) usually came up within a few seconds of starting the engine. So, if any of you guys run into this issue, you now have a tested solution.
