Joined the Vortech SI ranks

Pretty fast turn around from Vortech after the impeller bearing went. Vortech sent me a brand new BPV and brand new blower with the SI impellter and volute. I never really got to drive the SC blower as the bearing went right after the tune, so I wont have any basis for comparison. Plan and new dyno and updated tune towards the end of feburary so we'll see how it does then.

hopefully Vortech decides to honor the 3 yr warranty on the SI. No one at vortech tech could answer that questions.

Congrats. You're the only G35 I know running the SI. How does it sound in comparison to the stock blower?

ya without that thread, non eof this woulda been possible.

FWIW, vortech says they are selling a TON of these upgrades. Seems fairly rare still on the forums though. I mean no SC vs Si dyno charts yet and its been months since they release the Si impeller.

well its tuned for the SC blower, so its pretty close. just lowered my rev limit for the time being.

App-- well greddy Twins would be no comparison without a 75 shot of Nitrous.

I figure there has to be at least 10 FI G/Z's in town. Phantasm has done a couple turbonetics (the white roadster is for sale off Western Blvd). There's a couple Vortech and your Greddy.

WOuld make for a nice meet.

So did you get this blower on ? Run it to redline to see what boost levels you get at what rpm ?

teh bad weather here and the lack of alignment since adding the camber kit have kept the car in the garage. I'll know better next week.

Where are you taking it to get aligned? Crossroads Infiniti has always been good to me.

Still trying to find a g'd place to do my body kit.

pp-- FVUCK xroads. they suck my *****. they charge 2-3x as much as riverside for parts. Dont get me started. The parts manager telling me straight up they can charge what they want bc theres no competition, made me wanna jump over the counter and pistol whip him

Hubcap heaven in cary FTW!!

the SI will spin to 55k rpms and make a lil more boost. on tha non-revup, you can actually run to stock redline without overspinning the impeller.

good luck finding a body shop. pave the way for guys like me

Guys, what do you think the odds are that Vortech would swap an Si-trim impeller into my defective SC-trim unit (for free)? I wonder if I can weasel my way into a nice little upgrade. I'm liking those numbers. You think this was a one time thing for a single customer?
