400HP with Vortech...what needs to be done?
I know that I could put on a twin turbo kit and make 400HP, but I want to do the install myself...and turbo's are much more involved. So, I'd like to do a supercharger...most likely a Vortech. My question is, what needs to be done to have it hit 400HP. Budget is a concern...to a point.
Can I simply get the base Vortech kit with a smaller pulley? I already have the MREV2, Spacer, Stillen TD exhaust.
Is it even possible to do with the Vortech (400RWHP) without getting into internal engine mods?

you have a rev-up, so just add the 3.12 pulley, get it tuned, and you will be at 400whp+ I would suggest 440cc injectors and a better EMU than the Split Second box as well. Your internals will be fine.

Oh, and yes, get a Walbro 255 as well.
Tuner Kit FTW!

he has a revup, so the revup kit comes with a 3.12 pulley to start with...he can either get a 2.87 pulley, or get the same cog pulleys from the non-revup kit

yeah the revup kit out of the box can reach higher whp than the non-revup because of the higher redline and how that plays into the hp equation (tq x 5252/rpms). I'm not really sure why they changed things the way they did. Maybe they thought the 3.33 pulley was too large for the belt layout they designed and so went with the 3.12 and changed the rear cog pulleys to bring the boost back down - I don't know.
Either way I think the revup hits a slightly higher psi at the redline than the non-revup kit.

The thing I noticed about the 3.12 on the revup. You can't seem the be able to change the belt without taking the M'Fer off the bracket. The 2.87 gives you enough room to slide it under and change the belts.

Shouldn't be hard, as many have already stated. Definately get some HFC/TP's, as that helps out alot.
Most important part is that you make sure the tuner knows what he's doing.

Trust me, I have 440cc right now and really wished i would have went with 550cc or 650cc. 440cc would be closer to making out the injectors if your looking to make around 400whp. Also recommend the Utec for EM. Just my opinion.
