a good tuner will make sure you dont have any problems.

you'd only have fuel problems if you are pushing high horsepower.

realistically, you want to use the EMS that your tuner is most familiar with. Guys in the SE have forged and performance factory as the 2 big tuners and they both know UTEC. They also use the Fcon also but the UTEC is much cheaper. Hal Tech is among the best as you can control cam timing and more with that but is expensive and there arent many tuners that work with it.

The problem with the rev-ups is oil consumption and I've never read a good explanation for why it happens.

The UTEC is popular because it operates as a stand-alone EMS at load and is relatively cheap compared to other stand-alone offerings. It is still the best bang for the buck under $1000 for tuning, especially if you do not live next to a UpRev authorized tuner (in which case I would favor Osiris for about the same money).

look on the front timing cover for blue and green plugs, those are revups.

also, it will say REV on your dash while driving...

if you are in the southeast US, give us a call. we have many many twin turbo revups, including the first US HKS twin turbo revup...

The one thing i would say is if you are going to leave the motor stock and just add the turbo, check and make sure you are not burning oil first if you are take it to the dealer they have a procedure to document it and they will put a new long block in it. there is a tsb for it now

They changed the piston rings in the revups? So building the motor (new pistons) would solve the issue then?

the rings aren't smaller.

Nissan changed the second compression ring on the revups. the new ring has a different edge profile and they also tightened the 2nd ring gap.

sure would. the block pistons, rods, and crank are the same. the only real differences in the stock short block are the 2nd rings, rod bolts, oil pump, and a small plate around the oil pump pickup.

yes building the motor would solve the issue. my buddy works at a infinity dealer by me and the only reason its burning oil is the rings. i have a 06 sedan that had the same problem at 3000 miles i pulled the motor built it from top to bottom and tt and no oil loss.
