Nitrous question

Before you go flaming, Im not new to the nitrous game, just new to it with a car that has a returnless fuel system as well fly by wire TB. I was debating about putting nitrous on my altima just for kicks once in awhile (g is gonna be Turboed) but i was curious, since my altima is a 6spd manual, how to you do the WOT switch with no actual external moving parts for the TB for it to know when to engage? also, where do you tap into for the fuel? Is it on the feed line? other than that, i think the rest of the install should be pretty much the same as I had in my old car.

TPS is easy, most nitrous systems come with a module (if not sold separately) that you can tap into your OEM TPS signal (0-5v) and program the TPS curve so the unit knows when you are WOT.

Fuel is easy as well, Get a SPX fuel adapter, with longer bolts, and sandwich it between the OEM FPR and OEM fuel rail, then you can screw a fitting on to the adapter and provide fuel to your solenoids.

I would also recommend a digital window switch, setup to spray between 3,000-6,000RPM, Also don't red line your engine when on the juice.

Good luck, I had nitrous on my Z for a while back in 03, lasted for a while until I stretched a few rods, pistons started slapping the heads, went back to stock and got it warrantied though

Quick question, If I bought just a regular wet kit, is it gonna be a pain to find individual parts to make it work with a fly by wire setup, or is there a kit with all the parts already there for me?

The parts you need are all available from dynotune.com, at pretty reasonable prices too.

from what i've been reading on other sites, a wet kit with a TPS switch is all I would need? or is that incorrect? Last car I had nitrous on used a regular TB, so it was pretty easy to do everything.

that toolbag totolus did a diy on a g35 sedan on that show tricked out. i'm pretty sure a lot of it will carry over to a 3.5 altima. he used an under pedal switch for wot position.

+1 Good list.

Spray is good as long as you stay off it most of the time. If you use it a lot you are better off spending the money on a turbo so. All the gas adds up just like a payment on the boost.

I had a car on the bottle a while back and won't do that again because I used it too much and had nothing to show for it when everything was over.
