^^Also, I'm pretty sure Power Enterprise's cores are made by ARC.

Oil cooler reason being. Your engine is running at a higher temps, the oil return lines that flow thru the turbo is Steamin hot.. the oil cooler works wonders to bring temps down.

After my motor build and gauge install I was shocked to see how high my oil temps were.

I had a big AMS radiator, Greddy oil pan and AAM oil pan spacer (almost 7 qts). My oil temps (on dyno oil for break-in) were 260+ on the freeway!!

I put together an oil cooler with a 5x13 earls cooler and Mocal thermostat sandwich plate and my temps went down 20-30+ degrees, even when it was 110 here in Phoenix.

IMO an oil cooler should be added for any boost applications.

Just because your water temps are ok does not mean your oil is...

Anyone else have Oil and Water temp gauges installed?

What are your oil temps running at? Stock or other FI than Greddy Twins like Tim's?

How about your Water Temp on Stock radiator and then on New Upgrades?

Seems the stock water temp gauge reading "dead center" could be as high as 230+ F when A/C's on and just cruising... in town around 35mph.

Well, what does that tell you If you want good info on FI cars...you need to go to my350 to get it.

NEVER try to cut corners when you are FI. I am sure you know that it does not take long for the Turbo's to heat the car up. Take my advise..YOU NEED BOTH. If you really cant get both at the sametime....i would go with the oil cooler first...

Good luck

STOP THIS MADNESS AT ONCE

What the hell are you talking about? And where are you getting your info from

Johnny Law is correct !!! How the hell can less oil mean more cooling? You buy a high capacity oil pan to use less oil

Stop the madness !!

Thats rule #1 in FI.....having the ability to add more oil helps with controling the damaging heat that the turbos make.

Thanks, I think you probably contributed to my my 350z thread. I'm in cali and will be going with a HKS supercharger, so the compressor itself will not contribute much to engine oil temps, but will still be doing the oil cooler first and then radiator shortly after.

ARC pan sucks, its just flimsy and strips pretty easy, should have had a steel insert where the plugs go or something. I'm careful as hell when changing the damn oil and it still went on me twice, now my drain plug is huge b/c I had to keep switch up everytime I had to retap it. If it didn't come with the kit I bought, I would so spend that money on an ebay PE copy oil pan and a koyo radiator.

Btw, you don't need either but a spacer or pan is a good way to run your return lines if you don't want to tap the block.

I dont recall who it was, but somone did a before and after on the temp diff with an oil cooler. It was pretty significant from what I remember. I will prolly do an oil cooler for that reason and the fact that its cheaper.

Someone correct me if im wrong, but doesn't more oil just mean that it will take a little longer to heat up? How exactly does more oil = COOLER oil during, lets say, a long track day?

Since its still the same substance it should have the same specific heat capacity.

Again, someone correct me if im wrong. My last chemistry class was a year ago.
