Koyo Radiator?!

Okay, I've searched and I just cannot find a STRAIGHT answer. I'm posting this here because I'd rather have FI experts/people answer and read my question, since more than likely they have experience with what I need.

If I were to buy the FAT 53mm Koyo radiator, what EXACTLY do I need to mod on it to fit the G? I want to buy it, make the mods, and drop it in without too much headache.

Second question, since I have the JWT kit, is it possible to fit the 53mm radiator without buying aftermarket fans? Can I trim the stock fans down enough, or do I need to buy smaller fans?

If you don't know the answer to these questions, please don't respond. I just want these answers. Thanks!

I'm actually doing the same thing, going to GTM and getting the 56mm radiator with the 14" fans. I don't think you can fit that large of a radiator with the stock fans.

I don't want to spend $600 FOR FANS! Thats OUTRAGEOUS! I'd rather go buy some racing rans for like $200, why would you get their fan shroud?

why would u need to get such a big rad? Why not just get the 34mm one? Are u having overheating issues?

Track day + small radiator + two turbos = 260+ temps

Well I have searched around for a comparable radiator and almost got one for 300 but I have no idea what would need to be done to make it a drop in, the fans are not necc. but I thought I would kill 2 birds with one stone as I need something to keep my water temp down.

I decided to try a new front bumper first and see if this makes a difference, maybe more air to the radiator will suffice but we shall see.

I have the Koyo 34mm radiator and the GTM fans and shroud and still had to modify the Vortech down pipe a bit to fit around the fan motor.

I installed the radiator with no modification to the car, just needed a new longer hose for the overflow bottle. Then upgraded my tranny cooler to a larger one since the Koyo is for manual tranny.

Are you ST or TT? I can't remember, and is it water cooled?

Well, I don't have any piping in the way of the fan motor, just the big a$$ pipe right at the top of the fans.

I guess this brings to light a new question - is the fat koyo worth it? Should I be fine on the track with the 34mm radiator? What do the GTM fans do that I can't do with just getting a thinner fan setup?

If you have the hook ups then getting the thinner fans yourself is just the same as getting the GTM's but they also have the choice to link this to the Fcon making one fan turn on at one temp and the other at a higher temp.

The only major cost is the labor to have this installed

The fans from GTM are $600. My friend (iStan) has some sweet thin fans taht were $200. I can get those with the radiator. Labor isn't an issue, I have some great friends

I have a Vortech. What do you mean " is it water cooled " ?

I Know you have a turbo, I am just giving some refrence on fitting.
No way the stock fans would have fit with my Vortech pipeing

The reason I got the GTM version is for the show looks.
