Bank 1 rich + cyl. #2 misfire = bad tune?

Is it a bad tune or just a bad plug / injector ?

Any advice, ideas.. or anyone know the answer lol

Have you reset the ECU? Did the error come back?

HKS:iS -- I used a scanner and reset the error codes and in 5 miles they haven't come back. My mechanic seemed concerned about the misfire- I always though it was just another day in the F/I drivers life.

I haven't talked to my tuner yet- we'll see what he has to say tomorrow most likely.

.

Tell your mechanic that misfire is normal with FI and one step colder plugs. Were do you get the misfire? Misfire under WOT is bad. Did the CEL came up under boost? If you see your CEL come up and blink under WOT then that is bad, if the CEL comes up when just starting the car then that is ok.

P300 is normal but P302 is not, there is a chance you have a fouled spark plug or problem with your coils, but I'd say the spark plug if its only happened once.

Bank 1 rich might hint to you having a fouled upstream o2 sensor.

P302 just tell you which cylender which is Cyl 2 so it is no different than P0300. I always get P300 and P302 hand in hand. I only get misfire on cold start up. You are right that it could be the coil pack or sprark plug.

But P0300 could be also:

Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
Faulty fuel injector
Burned exhaust valve
Faulty catalytic converter(s)
Poor compression

well i could definitely have faulty 02 sensor, cat and poor compressoin.

I dont know really what a exhaust valve is, and i really really doubt its my injector.

I'm almost sure this is all from it being at idle. I never notice though- im always going WEEEEEEEEEE under WOT

P0302 - I get that one all the time. When you get that, you will always read rich on bank one - so don't sweat that part. My P0302 is simply due to a faulty connection in my harness for cylinder #2. Any fault with O2, Exhaust, CAT would not zero in on one cylinder. Check the connections in your harness. My fix is always to reach under the dash and push on the bundle of wires behind my ECU. The fault immediately clears. The last time it happened, I pulled the harness apart and traced the #2 injector wire from the ECU down the line until I found a loose connector. I re-soldered it and thought that was the end of it. It has happened once since (2 months) and I didn't have time to fix it, so I just pushed on the wires again. I'll go back in when I get a chance.

Edit: Misfire is NOT normal with FI. Other than my wire problem with #2, I get no codes at all.
