Vortech dyno results
Had the G35 tuned (finally) last night. All runs done in 5th gear. 1st run (using vortech supplied R4 program) yielded 313 HP. Here are the results after about 12 runs of adjusting using R4 software. I am happy with it (for now) and power band is definitely is a lot smoother after tuning. Here you go...

Re: Vortech dyno results
JustICE,
The dyno is located at Martel Racing shop in Manchester. The tuning was done by Avalon Racing (where my s/c was purchased & installed). Avalon does their dyno tuning at Martel. PM me if you need any more info or phone #'s.

Re: Vortech dyno results
excellent numbers! i'm not sure if i'm reading the a/f correctly, but does it seem like yer runnin a lil lean throughout the rpm's? with the successful numbers you vortech guys are putting out, i'm leaning more towards buying a vortech myself, thanks for the info!

I think you are way lean. Could hurt you motor. Talk to Vortech and see what they say. You may pick up horsepower when you get the needed fuel to you engine. Also did you install copper plugs and toss the factory?

Alan,
Is it really too lean? Since I only had 1500 miles I kept factory plugs for now. I will probably go 1 step colder after 5-6K miles.

Re: Vortech dyno results
I think you may need those glasses (lol)! Actually, once under load, the highest A/F ratio is 13.5 @ 3K rpms and lowest is about 11.3@6.5K rpms.

Re: Vortech dyno results
Here's all I personally would do... You have a bit of a dip @ 3600 rpm and another dip @ 5050 rpms or so. I would try to get the A/F ratio to follow the line between those two points (i.e. descend gradually from 12.7ish to 12.3ish) rather than coming back up to nearly 13.

Re: Vortech dyno results
Good job kzanard
Keep your a/f ratio.
It starts with lean 17 on lower RPM to get you the power of the line then it comes down to 11.3 on high RPM to keep it safe. As long as it is lower then 12 up top you'll be safe.
And also agree with zimbo to get rid of that dip and make it smooth run down.
Now get DOT sticky tires and hit the track. Good Luck!

Re: Vortech dyno results
Thanks Zimbo. I haven't tried changing the SS program (R4) yet. It is a little intimidating to me. I do have it on my laptop and have the current program. I just have to spend some time with the software.
