F/I Cams
Hey,
Just wanted to know what cams yall bought for your F/I application. I'm still not sure if I NEED to rebuild my motor (ill find out tomorrow) but either way im going to do it asap.
Cams will be my first purchase because I don't really need them.. and if I buy them first- I never resell stuff once I buy it.
Goal- 550whp on a MUSTANG dyno.
Questions?

How is the APS extreme compared to your SC? Any vids of it doing any runs yet?

My turbos are much bigger though so the comparison is sort of a moot point

The price might be a little cheaper since you already have the VB and upgraded TC, but it's still going to cost ya.

no videos yet, i will get some soon enough though. The SC isnt even comparable, the power band is similar bc there is no power down low and alot up top but the tt hits 100x harder

Well, once I build this motor I'm not touching this again unless something breaks- I have to finish the tranny too.
I'm not exactly sure what my choices are? I'd like something with a lot of mid/high power. Since I have a 3300 stall TQ converter, low end power would just be fail.
Any thing bad about having a pair of really aggresive cams?

Yeah I know- I wanna do the motor first- Considering it's a time bomb. I'll figure out where the tranny on my car starts slipping and then turn it down a psi untill I can finish the build on that.
I'll call ya if I need my roof cut off <3
Oh yeah and I wanna rev high =)
But now i see the problem not being able to raise my idle.. ugh i hate cams!

i got a set of scott performance cams in my car. unfortunately the company is no longer in business. i think they were similar to the JWT stage 1 cams, with the exception of the duration antd the fact the scott cams were made for FI(the first gen jwt cams were not to my recollection). i think it is like 230 or so on my cams. anyway, i know that there are more aggressive cams out there, but i wanted to keep the car an everyday type car( i dont really drive it everyday though). what i mean by that is that it idles fine at 850rpms and there isn't a lot of lope. just enough to let you know the vehicle is modified. i put down 600whp on a dynapak and 580's on a dynojet at 18psi with no headwork.

George how much power can one pick up with a set of cams? not the stage 3 aggresive ones as I want no loopy idle but lets say stage 2.

Hard to say, depends on the other existing mods and boost, I would say 20-40whp.
