Man, I was having a grand old time about 7AM on the way to work, one stretch of overpass is my last chance before a hard day so I went for it. About 4000RPM I heard this HORRIBLE banging and clattering. I did the same as you and limped it about 1/4 mile, popped the hood and it wasnt my engine that blew... just the supercharger belt, it was half way shredded, half way still intact. PHEW! I know exactly how feel!!!!!!!!!

What's the cost of a long block....?
Sounds to me like you just got a "WAKEUP CALL!" Seriously, when you have
a noise going on under your hood put it on a flatbed and get it home. Had it
been your engine by limping home you might have destroyed the damn thing!
You were lucky this time, could have been a costly mistake!

^What's done is done. If I blew the motor, I blew the motor. Can't fix that, especially since I was less than 20 seconds from my house. If I got the same noise/similar noise I'd probably do it again as long as I'm not leaking any oil or something like that.
