Sorry i haven't updated in a while... From what i understand the problem was due to the shop that did the instal and their method of gaining oil pressure. The had everything set up then turned the motor over without spark and looked for oil pressure. got none, repeated, repeated, repeated. then they dropped the oil pan and forced oil up through the oil pump pickup to prime it with an old school style fire extinguisher that was rinsed out and oil was put inside then pressurized. This method was what did this to the pistons...

I am on my way home from iraq again jan 6th and i've really got my fingers crossed that this will be complete and i will finally have the car i've always wanted. Sharif is still waiting on the .030 over pistons to arrive then it will go back together. Cross your fingers for me. I also am upgrading to the Haltech and contemplating the cjm twin pump system with larger then my 650cc rc injectors. Also i have the carbonetics tripple in my sights. F*** this car is sooooo expensive, making me regret it all sometimes...

Again i'm sorry for being so tardy with my updates but here is the latest and greatest.
I got home from overseas jan 8th hoping to have a 650whp car but instead i had more let downs. Instead of a car i had news from sharif that the shop that destroyed my build motor had not only destroyed the pistons, all bearings but now the cj motorsports cams and heads are added to that list. Luckily Sharif had a spare set laying around the shop that he hooked me up with and we decided to go with the Jwt stage 2 cams. At this point i am in a rental car and desperatly awaiting my dream car when i get word that the jwt cams are backordered and they didn't come in until the 26th. Now the cams are in but my spot in the garage has been replaced and i'm back in the que and luckily for me i extended my stay to recieve this car and the latest i've heard is that i will not be getting it. It's hard to express how i feel about this whole situation through this forum. I started this project on september 14th 2008 and at best i will not have the car until april 6th, and close to 40,000 later. Anyone who is considering doing a TT build please pm me and let me give you a piece of my mind!

I did add a few things to this nightmare of a build.
carbonetics tripple disk clutch
cj motorsports twin pump w/in-line filter
3.3fd pumpkin with quaife lsd

I certainly feel your pain. Just remember it is a hobby and we (suppossedly) do this for fun. The first time you get behind the wheel and mash the throttle, you'll forget about all of this!

Sorry to hear about all the drama with the car. Hopefully it will all pay off in the long run. Sometimes I question whether or not all this modding is worth it. Is it better to just put a down payment on a better car?

Good luck bro
