Exclamation How much power can the Automatic take???

I was thinking of a single or twin turbo.. but i have the Automatic X.. i was wondering if the Automatic can take it? or would i just run into problems...

6MT and AT motors are the same so they can handle the same amount of pw. The tranny is a different story and to handld up to 400lb tq I would recommand a good VB upgrade.

Even an single turbo will reach the limitations of the tranny on an auto so just plan ahead and upgrade it while you can.

No fun once it goes out and your stuck in the middle of nowhere.

Dont forget about a trans cooler with the vb upgrade.Also its not how much power it can take but its about how muich tourqe it can handle.

So, which shop would you guys recommend or "prefer"? I was thinking about Stillen or GTM? I'm in Socal and plan on doing my own removal/install on the valve body and drop it off at their location to reduce less down time. I'll leave the modify of the valve body to the pros. Thanks in advance.

Yea but you also have their built trans as well.But to the op def get the GTM vb.

Thanks for the info, guys. How is the shifting or characteristic after the valve body has been done? And who should i look for at GTM to maybe hook me up with a good deal?
