Bone stock trans, with VB upgrade..about 400-450whp. Highly recommend an upgraded trans cooler if you beat on your car a lot. Beyond that, you really should consider a complete upgraded transmission. Those run about $4000-$5000 range.

I have 04 G35x AT with little over 400trq. The AT went at about 20K with F1. I had stock AT and tranny cooler. If your #s are similiar I'd hold off on anything and just wait till it goes and get complete built AT, still $4-5K where its used or blown. Am I wrong?

sitting in driveway to save $$$ for built AT.

good pt. The upgraded tranny is same price no matter what. I say get the VB upgrade for the firm shifting but wait off on the full tranny upgrade until it slips. U might not even need a full upgraded tranny if a good VB is all it takes.

^^^^Dont forget a tranny cooler also cause its the heat that kills the trans most of the time.

What causes slippage of the tranny? Is it due to the excessive HEAT buildup or is there something else?

If slippage of tranny is cause by too much heat then if u are able to monitor the tranny temp and keep it down wouldnt that prevent tranny slips or is that just to prevent the tranny from blowing up?

It caused by slippage of the clutch pack material (just like a normal clutch), and insufficient line pressure. Heat plays a role as well, but in terms of shearing holding capacity, its moreso the other two.

how much would it cost to get just the valve body upgrade done, and how much is the cooler

If we installed the VB and did the job here, its $890 including fluids and everything.

Trans coolers are custom done in house..call us.

I thought you stopped doing the vb's.I bought a FP vb from Matt(zulater)on my350z and it has worked flawlessly.
