Blowing a FX (vortec)
Hey everyone,
So I'm helping my nervous buddy blow his FX (pronounced and spelled fex) and I have a few questions myself I would appreciate an answer on.
3. I remember there being a really bad rattle problem, has that been fixed? is there an easy fix for it?
4. I assume a g35 non rev up kit would fit a 2006 fex 35??
I'm planning on running him on stock internals with a VB upgrade, NO stall converter, tranny cooler on the stock pully :/. I'm hoping to hit 400 wheel DJ 375 Mustang
I appreciate everyone and anyones time.
EDIT: updated.
EDIT#2: Still a few questions left.

whats a 3.12 belt? i only know of 3.12 pulleys...
anyways..
yes it is.
heres why.
1- vortech DOES NOT cover you with a smaller than stock pulley.
2- i am the perfect example.

70% of engine failures can be related to inadequate engine management.
Seriously though, get a decent EMS, if you MUST get a piggy back get a UTEC and tune it very conservatively. I would recommend to get a standalone like a Haltech or VPro. It is the most effective modification after going FI.
Another key factor is going to be a good tune, make sure you get one
Good luck!
