I believe the stock g35's ecu is set to around ~25 degrees at WOT total. So the more timing u put in, the more whp u get as a result. Usually if u running boost u want to decrease the amount of timing (retard) as u get closer to redline to reduce the chances of knocking. Say for example, u tune your car to a total of 20 degrees total at WOT and u net 400whp. The stock ecu was set at 25 degrees so u actually reduced your timing by 5 degrees compared to NA. So if u want more than 400whp u have to advance timing and the rule of thumb is for every degree of timing u add nets 10whp extra.

I'm very much thinking that the tuner could have loosened one of the vacuums to the FMU and that may be our culprit.

It has run perfectly fine in the past for 2K miles and not run lean since I had my injectors cleaned.

Nevertheless I'm gonna be heading back there and we'll take a look ati t today plus the new injectors are in so that will be easy.

Anyways, I'll let you guys know how it goes.

I went from the full kit at first, to 750cc inj., stage one fuel return, utec. I had the same problems with running out of fuel with stock injectors and even 440 inj. Get a walbro and lose the inline, also think of looking into a better EMS. Good luck, hopefully they dont charge you to much since they can figure out the problem, i have been there before......

allright!!! I think we figured it out!!!

Well my tuner didn't know that the unichip actually turns on the auxiliary fuel pump so that's why he was running otu of fuel. Now after talking with unichip, another tuner, and vortech we've been able to figure out how.

I went ahead and had my injectors installed anyways b/c frankly it's safer to have bigger ones since the stock ones were running at 93% max (although just waaay up top and just for a second)

anyways so now he's squeezing me in today and we're pushing ahead.

I'll let you guys know the results.

SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!!

So we figured it out. If any unichip tuner asks then it is under "OPTION 5" on their tuning software.

We got the inline fuel pump on and now we're ROCKIN'!!!

We've got air fuels down at 11.3 all across now and we're working up. Our goal is to set it at 11.5 across the powerband and then work on timing.

I'll update once we're done.

results are in: the final pull didn't read tq for some reason but the pull just prior made 342rwhp with 298rwtq. This is on a dynojet if any are wondering.

The final pull made 355 rwhp and unknown torque but I assume it's around the same. The AFRs were nice and rich at 11.5 throughout the powerband.

Before my tune today my car had been dynoed 2 other times, once making high of 322 rwhp and 287 lbft and the other making 314 rwhp and 295 lbft of tq. This was on the stock vortech tune. The problem though was that the stock vortech tune was creeping up after 6000RPM and the factory injectors were being maxed out at 93% according to a cipher cable reading the pulse width.

I don't have the sheets with me right now but I'll have them tomorrow for you alll.

Overall I'm quite happy. My tuner was very reasonable with the charges considering it was a learning experience for both of us since he'd never tuned a vortech g35 revup with the unichip before. It took some time to get the activation of the inline auxiliary fuel pump but once that was figured out he got it done without too much trouble. He spent 2 afternoons solid working on this and charged not even 20% of that time.

In reply to the individual who was anxious about the V3...
For those of you who are trying to figure out what the plus side is with the vortech V3 supercharger it's that the rattle that all vortech owners complain about is completely gone and that you don't have to install any oil return or worry about it getting kinked and starving the SC of oil.

The downside is that I'm at 2100 miles with my supercharger and the first fluid change is at 2500 miles. Then after that I have to change my supercharger fluid every 7500 miles (or twice a year on average).

The car has 2 maps with the AB map switch that you can purchase from Unichip for only $15. One is the regular mode and the other is a "valet" mode that my tuner set up to limit the RPM to 4000 RPM when I leave it with the valet. No boost for him.

Oh and the modifications to the car are as follows:
'05 G35 Coupe 6MT REVUP Premium Package w/ Navi

Vortech Full Kit w/ FMU and Auxiliary fuel pump on the stock 8lb pulley and the UniChip that comes with it

Nismo Headers
Nismo "Weldina" Cat-Back Exhaust
Nismo Low Temperature Thermostat
440cc Deatschwerks Injectors
Non-Revup Lower Plenum
MD 5/16" Plenum Spacer
Stock Cats

Otherwise the only other performance modifications on the car are:
Nismo 19" LMGT4 wheels
Bridgetsone Potenza S-03 Pole Position II Tires F275/35/19 and R245/35/19
Nismo Sway Bars

I forgot to thank a lot of people.

First off thanks to 4Shizzil for all the pep talks and all the advice and showing me that the unichip can be taken advantage of under the right hands. I've bothered that poor guy tons of times at all hours of teh day and night.

Also thanks to Vortech for giving us as much information as they could to get this tune going and turning on that aux fuel pump.

JE Imports (The owner there was a big help in understanding the aux fuel pump as well)

Tony, both Mikes, and the whole Unichip team.

Deatschwerks for overnighting me their quality injectors.

Southwest Infiniti and West Infiniti for installing the injectors and tightening belts/checking everything out since I had no garage and no tools to get any work done here in Houston. (Especially the service advisors Cal and Josh from the two dealerships respectively) They treated me right and didn't overcharge me whatsoever. Nothing quite as quality as dealership work.

My good friends and companions from Lubbock, TX, Matt the superstar military engineer and experienced mechanic for installing everything perfect the first time and GamblerZ who was kind enough to let me use his guy and his garage.
