Reliability In FI

So, I've been doing a little shopping around looking at different turbo chargers and such, and so far I've come down to three that I really like,
Turbonetics Single Turbo
Greddy Twin Turbo
and APS Twin Turbo

I was wondering which of the 3 would be most reliable and give me the most power, I'm not looking for a built motor (mainly cause I can't afford one) but I'll prolly be going FI somewhere between January and June of next year, so there really isn't any rush just dreaming and shopping atm . Replies and advice appreciated.
Thanks,
Travis

Search! Do lots of researching, and read lots of threads.

Many people have each of those kits, and each one has its own pro and cons.

Check those two threads out, and do a search for those three kits. I guarantee your questions will answered.

Honestly I think that the APS is the most reliable, I personally went with the greddy kit. Me personally would never go anywhere near the Turbonetics kit

So I just went FI but went with an SC instead of a turbo. Have you thought about going with an SC? You won't get as much power, but it will cost you less and because you can't just up the boost, it does enforce a little self control.

You should add the JWT TT and Powerlab ST kits to your list. Top notch quality on both and the JWT comes with a warranty!

tn is a good kit, you just need to do some minor upgrades to make it run perfect. but if your looking for potential, then the TN kit wont get you much over 400whp.. but with greddy or APS you have ALOT more room to build. power lab also makes a great ST kit..

+1

Been running APS TT Kit on my car for about 15k miles no issues.
Done AutoX, 1/4 Mile and Road Course/Time Attack events still ticking.

450WHP@8PSI w 50/50 Meth mix.
Still on stock block.

If any of the kits you choose came with anything but a Utec
be ready to shell out additional $$$ for a worth while EMS.

Bottom line is no matter how much tuning on a stock block there is no garuntee. Some people are fine and some people are not. The question you want to ask yourself is I can take the short easy way out and pray nothing happens or I do it right once and have something safe and reliable. Thats just my opinion.

the word reliability and turbo doesn't go together. A lot to do with tuning, though.

also, i feel that no matter what kit you have as long as you have a solid tune and stay within the safe parameters of the motor you SHOULD be ok. and good maintenance wouldn't hurt

If we are talking reliability then STS ST has one of the best record of all turbo out there. There are close to 20 STS owner out there and I don't remember one person having problem with the kit once it is installed and tuned right (I have my kit for 1 1/2 years and not a single problem). TN and APS had many problem.. Now if you are talking about Engine reliability then there is to many variables. But to date, no one had blown their Engine with the Stock STS kit. If you are looking for power then non of these kit will give you that big power. But you said you dont want to build your motor so any of this kit will be enough to blow your motor 100x. Now if you are set between APS and TN then I'll pick APS over TN. The only thing I don't like about APS is you have to go to an Authorize Dealer else Warranty can be a pain.
