Retune with new plenum?
This may be a stupid question, and an obvious yes, but I just want some opinions.
If I were to buy a Cosworth plenum, would I need a retune? I don't want to drive down to Cali just to get it tuned, again.

Are you already running an aftermarket plenum or spacer? For MAXIMUM gain, yes, but you're not gonna miss out on a lot.
*edit* saw the FI.
Yes, you should. What are you running now? Just spacer or spacer+MREV2 or aftermarket plenum?
The bigger concern would be AFR, secondary concern being power gain/loss. I'd imagine you already have all the supporting mods, and the airflow sensor is before the plenum, so any additional air will be compensated for, but I'm sure a tuner could extract more power if the new plenum is superior to the old setup. I don't think it would be MASSIVE gains, however.

With FI, my understanding is that the spacers/collectors have a much smaller effect since the engine is being force fed air instead of sucking it in.
Gains should be minimal, but additional safety is always nice. With my past FI experience, I had a retune with every change done.

I'm not really looking for any performance gains, but from what I read I believe the Cosworth keeps power up in the higher revs, thats where the stock and other plenums fail. I kind of want it just for the looks...kinda bored with my engine bay.
I know a retune is needed with almost anything, but I didn't need a retune with test pipes, and I was just wondering how much of a change it would make. Or if I should just wait until I venture down to San Diego again.

I'd recommend waiting till you're in the area; it's not too difficult of an install...
Just install it while the car is being strapped onto the dyno

Yeah, the install should be pretty easy. I'll probably just wait...too many things I need/want to do though lol.. Need to rebuild my tranny before I make it out there again.

Anyone please feel free to step in and correct me if my understanding of the situation is wrong please; my FI experience with the VQ is limited to other people's cars that I've sat in and/or driven.
If you're bored with your engine compartment the Cosworth plenum would
give it a whole new look, and from what I've seen a WOW look! Since you
have the OEM plenum without any other mods with the Cosworth you could
get 30+ more RWHP....my guess! G/L with the tranny rebuild....
