Greddy Twin Turbo kit - problems?

So I just purchased the Greddy Twin turbo kit w/ UTEC, front mount, gauges etc.

I went to two independent shops and BOTH claimed that the 2003 G35 motors are not very...reliable...when it comes to boosting them and many users blow them.

This makes me feel a bit unsafe...Has anyone heard of/had any problems with boosting there G? When I say boosting I mean conservative tune, nothing too radical.

Any problems I should look for and be aware of?

Thank you so very much in advance...want to take care of my baby and I'm a bit nervous!!

EDIT: Those who have the Greddy TT kit - how hard was it to install?

In my opinion if you are not ready to blow your motor or cant afford a down time then you have no business going FI... I'm sorry it is the truth!! Now to answer your question, can you give more info on your car? You have a 5 year old car that probably have over 50K miles so did you try to get at least a compression test on your motor?

I can use my wife's car for a few days when my car is in the shop - that's not necessarily a problem. It's the habitual car out of service that I cannot have. That and blown engines - the S.O. would never stop giving me crap about that However, I do appreciate the advice as always!

More info on the car:

2003.5 6MT
55k miles
Has never had a problem, rock solid
Autocrossed a bunch
No mods whatsoever

This is my first time to go FI'ed, I've always been a track guy and now I'm looking into something with more power for those long trips to work

anyways run from what ever shop told you that. I installed my tt kit on my car with 60k and it is pushing 409 to the wheels... There is certain thing that you can do to insure SOME saftey of your car... The utec and map sensor is a very good choice over the emanage blue. You need to go to a installer / tuner that knows g35's if you dont kiss your motor bye bye.

pm me if you need any specifics answered

Read up a little bit on the boards in the forced induction threads. Tuning and proper installation can save you from a really big headache later on down the road. Your car seems in good condition but there are still some things you should consider looking into such as new clutch to hold the power, tuning from a reliable reknowned tuner. Also do you plan on this car being your dd?

Make sure you take it to a car that has A LOT of experience on a VQ or you will be sorry. Also you should've researched more before you pulled the trigger.

Greddy kit is a great kit. Don't be dishearten by my problem threads-- Just learn something about tuning your self, or go to someone who, without ANY QUESTION is one of the best tuners in your area(and takes pride in his work)
