Holy cow monster G35 sedan build from SP....stolen from other site

It isnt possible to do it yourself. A bolt on kit yes, that would get you 400-500 if you are lucky. How do you plan on building a custom stroked/sleeved block yourself? Do you even have any idea the the amount of work to get to 1000hp on a VQ? Are you really trying to claim that XKR only has 15k dollars worth of parts on his 1000hp G35 and Fordged just charged him 85k in labor?
So you know the GTM stage 2 turbo kit alone is 13k, plus you still need to upgrade clutch, gages, spark plugs, exhaust, boost controller, oil cooler, ECU upgrade, fuel system, and tuning.
I think you must have driven a Civic before the G. But let me inform you, there is no possible way to even do a simple 400hp turbo kit for under 10k once you add on all the support parts needed.
Actually Forged Performace is a sposner on here. PLEASE send them a PM and tell them you want a 1000hp G35 built but you are not willing to spend more than 15k. I would love to see their response.

VQ will require at least $1,000 in just machine shop work to sleeve the block for 1kHP.
Parts +/- 20% based on whether you do it right or cheap:
Clutch is $2k
Rods $1k
Pistons $800
Fuel sys is $2k (injectors, return, lines and pumps)
Cams $1.2k (must for 1kHP)
Headwork $1k (just a cleanup, not larger valves)
Head gasket $300
Studs $400
Gasket kit $250
Turbo kit $7k
EMS$ $2k
Subtotal before misc parts that always come up is close to $20k and this does not include any labor for motor build or R&R of the motor. Yes if you go used parts and cheap out here and there you can get this stuff for cheaper, I'm just talking on average for good parts.
If you could actually do a 1kHP VQ for 15k as easily as you seem to think there would be a lot more of them out there. I'm not talking a 1-time dyno queen, I'm talking real, useful ones.

No I'm not. 1000whp internals are less than 3.5k. Add machining cost and some cams, springs, retainers for the heads and if you put it together yourself it's less than 6k.
The clutch isn't 2000. You can get a 6 puck clutch here custom built for less than 200 as long you have a core. I have a 6 puck kevlar one sitting that can hold 600 rwtq built for 175 with a chromoly flywheel that cost me less than 300. I could have easily requested for the clutch to hold 900rwtq. Of course it's not easy to drive AT ALL but it holds. I have yet to balance the assembly. I do not have the flywheel bolts.
The block doesn't have to be sleeved at all. XKR is at 1000 without a sleeved block. And If I had the 15k I'd run it above 1000 just to prove a point. I would also actually attempt this with the stock ECU. If the GTR makes 1000+ with the stock ECU why shouldn't the Revup ECU with Osiris and upgraded MAF sensors?
That's unnecessary mods for a 1000whp car. Only thing you need on a sedan is some 18x10.5 in the rear with the proper offset that can tuck 305s or drag radials. Or 19x10 and 305s or 295s.
As for the exhaust I would leave the downpipes open with turndowns. Actually the next exhaust I have planned is for a dual 3" divorced that stops at the rear axle.

This is as DIY as possible unless if you can do a lot lot more than what he can. This cost already 7-8k with the guy hounding for deals on parts. And no way it'll hold up anywhere close to 1k whp. This is not even touching anything on the fuel delivery, turbo, and EMS. The components in those are even more expensive...

XKR had a crankshaft on stock sleeve as well as a Haltech or HKS Pro on top of the ECU, btw. Those alone are min 5k.
Unless if you plan to only run a single dyno run then it'll be impossible.

Less than 300 dollars for a clutch that can handle 1000+ hp?
You truely think you can build a 1000hp car with just a flash?
Fully machined block with internals, cams, spring, valves, bolts... all for under 6k?
Someone please tell Sharif that he has been doing it wrong all this time. Andrei with you vast knowledge of the VQ platform and building high hp motors, you have to open a shop. Think about it, GTM/VTR/Fordged all theses shops are charging 60-80k for what you can do for 15k !!!!! You realize how much money you can make.

Lets add up the cost of NEW internals required for a 1000whp shortblock VQ35.
Pauter rods or Manley Turbo Tuff $1200. I like Manley because they are US made and are $1100
Wiseco 8.8:1 pistons $700. I have a block good for stock bore with perfect sleeves.
ARP Head and main stud kit $550
NEW OEM crank $650. I wouldn't risk the build over not spending an extra $650.
Head gaskets $320
Injected Performance main girdle. $300
Bearings which need to be gauged and checked by more than one machine shop. Let's say $200 but it's less.
Revup pump $230.
That's a total cost of less than $4050 which I think is a bargain. Can be even lower since new parts are selling in the private marketplace at a discount.
I actually see no problem with TRYING Osiris with upgraded MAF sensor since people have used it up to 650whp and no one knows if there is in fact a limit.
They charge that amount because they have a business to run and people to pay. That's why they charge you.

Not going to start an argument here, but start drafting up all the parts needed for your 1000whp and make a thread and let people give their inputs. You'll get much more feedback on my350z then here so I'd do it there. I can be wrong but I don't think any of those 1kwhp+ builds had stock stroke length and I believe there are only 5 of them in existance.

Andrei, I think you're in deeper than you think.
If you're going down that route, you should set aside another 40k just for the **** that you are going to break on the first dyno run.
You need a legit tune, NOT a flash for anything over 500hp to run properly.
I usually hate whosurbuddy but go over to my350z and ask them about 15k 1000+hp Zs....
Also, see my signature.

I'm not surprised by Andrei's assertions in this thread based on his other posts about performance gains, I'm just sayin...
Like others have said, please post this over on my350z, I would love to see what they have to say about 1Khp for $15K over there. Thread would be epic.
This is an AMAZING build!

I have noticed a few guys with over 600whp gave opinions here I will agree with them....since the actually know what it takes. They have seen first hand all of the hidden costs and little things that add up in a hurry.
The LS vs VQ thing the Hinson kit is not anywhere near all you need to drop a LS in I have heard the kit is partial at best and requires lots of fabrication to work. As far as putting turbos on that again all cu$Tom work. SnyperZ did but he is not exactly a typical DIYer to have a shop replicate his build would be every bit as expensive as dropping your car off at a shop and asking for a 1000whp VQ build. As far as dropping in an LS and having 400whp for $20,000 my first turbo kit was under $15,000 drop the car off pick it up done, i beat on it for several years with no issues ever.....I guess unless we find people with real world builds an experience it is speculation and dream talk.

Seriously people. I have added the cost of an EMS as well, machine work and cams, springs, retainers and and it comes out to 15k even, amazingly. WITH the SP TT kit from this thread.
SP was making 1248WHP with their shop 350z with stock displacement. IP had/has a 350z with their stage 1 block running low 9s and it set the 6 speed record.
