The problem with SC is that it is base on RPM so in hot humid days or higher altitude you loose some power because the blower cant compensate for the less denser air. A turbo can compensate with it better because it rely on the pressure in the manifold.

I think I've realized the Vortech is for me, or nothing at all, since it seems to be about bullet-proof with good/safe tuning.

I just need to figure out what exactly I need to make a Z kit work on my Sedan. Anyone have a Rev-Up G kit they wanna unload?

Are you talking about heat soak? Every car, even N/A, has to deal with heat soak. Trust me, I've taken my coupe down the 1/4 many times when it was NA and had to deal with it.

To the OP, if you're worried about heat, then get a oil cooler. I've never had a problem with heat, but then again, I don't track my car. The oil is doing double-duty, so it makes sense. Get a oil cooler and an oil pan spacer to carry 6 quarts.

Haha, not completely ruled out Alex, but almost there. I just think a STS kit in Utah as a DD is going to be rough, with everything exposed to the elements, more so than any other FI method.

However, I don't really have anyone local in UT, at least not that I'm aware of, that could do a good job tuning and/or installing, so maybe that's a sign that FI isn't for me. Who knows.

I'm actually not at all worried about temps, as long as everything is safe. I've rarely seen anyone with Vortech running a cooler, catch can, or spacer and I want to keep things as easy and cost-efficient as possible. However, I appreciate the input.

Ya, they're in Orem, which isn't too far from me. Geez, knowing how unpredictable their kits are, I dunno if I'd want them touching my car. Honestly, I don't even know if they tune, but I'll call around and see.

^^ unpredictable?

if this is your DD, i would not boost it. After all the down time, there is no way i'd ever do that. Its not just the tune that can go wrong.

with that said, if I was to do it all over, I woulda never bought a blower. If you dont need carb exemption and stock block power, Turbos are so much better. I woulda went with that STS kit or powerlab kit had it been out. You hardly see those kits for sale, while vortechs are dime a dozen.

Unpredictability in what comes with the kit as well as STSs customer service, but I've all but ruled out the STS kit due to having to drive in snow and rain 1/3 of the year.

If you want to sell me your V3 blower, I can get you a STS Kit for cheap ($3K complete).

Haha, yup, Vortech is basically what I've narrowed it down to, but don't even know if I wanna do FI, unless a killer deal comes up. I'm in no rush, so I can be patient.
