Nismo makes a 8250RPM or 8500RPM one, for now, of course underrated. Should hold 9000RPM without problems. However Nissan Motorsports has been scalling back for a while now and who knows how much longer it will be in production. http://www.mynismo.com/products/?id=2783

Not many people are going to be revving to 9k, at least not on a street application. So you should be ok. Remember this car was basically an R&D setup so basically when the motor was on, it was being pushed...be-it 1xxx dyno pulls, or 9sec 1/4 passes at almost 170mph.

SP definitely made a point with the VQ. Put a big long-lasting dent in everyone elses import/domestic scene while still being street legal. No to mention IP with their single turbo street legal 350z which was faster than this one. SP and IP are the main subjects of conversation around the dyno where I go. 170mph in the quarter mile. Imagine a mile.

I would make the next build sustainable though. Nismo oil pump and more differential braces.

Ya 1k for an oil pump is a bit much, I think I will stick with the 100.00 revup pump but I have no plans to rev to 9k.

I think it's a small price to pay for top notch quality and reliability.

above 8500rpm I don't think it matters if you run the nismo or the rev-up...they will both eventually fail due to rpms....just the nature of the oil pump design.

^ for that money, better to invest in a dry sump design? Like this one with integrated into girdle and oil pan...

Now thats pretty trick....

Might have to do something about the filter placement (on that specific setup at least)....could always just do a remote mounth though. That is pretty nice though.

Much better. Whats the cost? They also have a chain version instead of a belt driven pump.

On website they have pics of the Nissan V12 race engine. Never seen it before. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_R382 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_R381 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_R383

I agree. Here is a list of cars Nismo built or raced. Some are 7600-8500RPM depending on race rules I guess and reliability for racing. There is a 11600rpm car though.
