Vortech and now overheating

Quick question for you guys. I had more Vortech installed a couple of months ago. As the weather is getting hotter, my car seems to overheat when the A/C is on. When I turn it off, the car is fine. Think I have to change my thermostat? Any suggestions are welcomed....THANKS!

Funny, I would think the opposite would be true, in that, when the AC is on, both fans are working. Do you have the intercooler? You may just have more of a heat load than the stock radiator can handle.

Yes, I am running an intercooler, tranny cooler and stock radiator. I know that both fans are working with the A/C on. Think its the radiator??

You should change radiator fluid or radiator.

I ran the T-trim Vortech and upwards of 19psi and never had a problem with over heating . You may have an air pocket in it . Also , check to see if you can see anything floating in the fluid or if its milky looking .

Yeah, there is a "burp" valve near the passenger side back of the plenum, you may just need to get the air out of the system.

istan overheated with his vortech. If burping it doesn't fix it then the ambient temps may be too hot for your car in the summer and you'll need a nismo thermostat and a bigger radiator. I think that's a must anyway for any FI g/z. I used to peg my stock temp gauge in the summer here. Now with the big koyo and nismo thermostat temps are perfect all the time.

well i tried the draining and changing the radiator fluid. It didn't work. So I guess its time for a new alum radiator and thermo. You guys recommed any places to buy some of this stuff at a good price?

How do you know for sure if you are car is over heating or not. What was the temp?

I do not have an experience with nismo thermostat, but by research i read many people says it doesn't help.

i would go back and bleed the coolant system the way it depicts in the factory service manual. make sure you get all the air pockets out. if that doesnt work then double check your fans and make sure they are both blowing at high speed
