APS TT System

Re: APS TT System
Please develop a G35 sedan application, too. (Hurry up! You can utilize twin intercoolers for the stock bumper, right?)
Provide HP/TQ #s for a 350Z TT based on 8 psi & 93-octane.
Will your hi-boy plenum fit under a G35 sedan hood?
When will your hi-boy plenum be ready to ship?
When is your hi-capacity oil pan going to be ready to ship?
May I assume your engine management unit is tunable?
Should one complete installation of your TT w/ colder plugs?
Many more questions, but that's all for now...
Thank you.

Re: APS TT System
cool...hopefully your replies will be as fast as the ones on the my350z forums =) .
How much do you feel you're going to have to alter to make the kit fit the g35 coupe as opposed to the z?
For our purposes would a single core still be more efficient than a dual core?
In correlation to question number 1, if not much has to be changed..can we expect near the same shipping date as your Z kits? or if not..will it still be as soon (maybe 1-2 months longer?)
Thanks!

Re: APS TT System
Whatever you do "don't " change that beautiful FMIC. There are at least three G35C bumper facias that we G owners can select :
a) Top Secret : fiber glass ,most expensive, most attractive IMO.
b)Greedy G-racer: fiber glass, mid expensive ,"extreme looking" IMO
c) Stillen : Urethane, least expensive , OEM looking IMO
All three appear to provide reasonable air flow over the area were the APS intercooler would live.

Re: APS TT System
Peter,
I'll be one of the first to say that you've done a great job on the my350Z forum. However, I feel obligated to mention that I sent you a PM months back asking about a system for the G35 AT Sedans... and never got a response.
I believe you'll find that there's a great deal of interest in an APS TT system for the G35 AT & MT Sedans as well as the Coupes. Especially if it's CARB Certified.

Re: APS TT System
Well I think you guys will really like the APS oil pan..............it holds a lot more oil than the any other oil pan and has greatly improved baffles for the oil pick up..............this eliminates any chance of oil surge under extreme driving conditions.
Thanks
Peter

Re: APS TT System
Just a quick note on the APS/Garret dual ball bering turbos.............these turbos have sufficient mass air flow to support aroound 800 horsepower (would need a built engine of course) and will produce around 500 rear wheel horsepower on a dyno jet dyno on 94 octane fuel.
There's not much of a difference in price between larger and smaller Garret dual ball bearing turbos so we have chosen what we consider to be the best match for the 3.5 litre engine............given that we believe many owners will want a daily driver with around 400 to 500 rear wheel horsepower.............obviously the power will depend on the available fuel octane.
There will be a good deal of Turbo info on the APS web site in the near future..........I hope to post compressor and turbine gas flow maps on the web site................I'm just waiting for permission from Garrett before doing so................I don't want to upset our friends at Garrett.
Thanks
Peter

Re: APS TT System
No problem and I will try to answer you guys promptly.............sometimes it's difficult depending on how many pm and emails I need to reply to.
Now I can't answer your question with absolute 100% accuracy as I have only seen the G35 in the flesh once and that was on a lift................and only for 10 minutes or so.
From what I viewed in this short time I would prefer to retain the mega large bar and plate intercooler we have developed for the 350 Z though this will then require the fitment of an aftermarket front.
I would be concerned with utilising the stock front (with twin intercoolers) as the air flow to the radiator and engine cooling would be impeded by the intercoolers to some degree.................ultimately a new front with the largest possible single intercooler would provide the best/most efficient intercooling and therefore higher power potential..............though this path would be more expensive as it requires a new front to be purchased.
By the way what is the typical cost for an aftermarket front nose/bumper assembly?
I can't give you a time frame at the moment for the APS TT system to suit the G 35 as this depends on other possible engineering complications...............APS engineers need to conduct thorough testing prior to releasing the product...............I can say that APS will push on quickly and that this project is now our most important priority.
I will keep you guys fully informed over the coming months.
Thanks
Peter

Re: APS TT System
APS,
Thank you for all the info. As mentioned above your plenums has sparked a lot of interest too. Especially among people staying NA. Can you please post more information on availability, fitment issues, and if possible some dynos of NA applications.
