ATI Procharger - need some advise

I've read news and opinions on the ATI ProCharger blowing up engines, but also news and opinions on how reliable and safe the system is. Obviously, these are conflicting views on ATI ProCharger.

I plan to run with stock internals - no forged pistons, rods, or cams, but plan to use Kinetix Plenum.

For those of you who have been using the ATI ProCharger without problems, will you share with us what your secrets are. Do you have to buy extra parts (i.e., injectors, fuel pump, ecu reprograming, etc.)? How much boost? Pulleys? Etc?

I like the power the ATI ProCharger puts out and adjustability of the system, but I just want to run it safely without toasting a VQ motor.

Thanks.

Re: ATI Procharger - need some advise

You absolutely, positively need to find a way to pull timing at upper RPMs, either via a Technosquare reflash or with a piggyback monitor/controller such as the J&S Safeguard.

You also need to make sure that your installer/tuner realizes that an A/F above 12.0 will blow the engine even with timing pulled and will do so GUARANTEED if no timing is pulled.

Re: ATI Procharger - need some advise

ATI does not blow engine. Lack of tuning blows them. Pull timing, run right air fuel.
I have ATI and to make mine like I want it I am using the Powerhouse Racing MAP ECU to give me a 3D fuel map. RC 440 injectors. TechnoSquare Flash for timing, 02 fecback, Elimination of Speed control, Raised RPM's to 7,100.
About to add a factory fuel pump complete assembly to second gas tank and run line to fuel rail. Colder Plugs. Have not tuned yet and have not got into boost yet. I will be able to have it as rich as I want it at any rpm.
