UTEC does have overboost protection. That's probably what you experienced.

Knock retard feels like hesitation. Boost cut feels like your engine shuts off for a second.

Would these features work if someone ran both Osirus tune + Utec EMS at the same time?

It could work but probably not worth it...for the same price (UTEC + tune + Osiris + tune + MAF) you could do a full standalone.

Thanks djamps. That's good to know.

AS for the Osiris + UTEC, the only good thing there is it would help the transition between UTEC and oem ECU which isn't always the smoothest thing. If you are going from scratch you are better off with a better EMS like HKS F-Con V pro or Haltech. Even if you got a used UTEC, a UTEC+Osiris including parts and tunes would still cost you at least $1500-2000 and you can get a full up EMS for not too much more.

I have an AAM flash which I believe helps with the transition going TO the UTEC. When getting into boost it is smooth as silk.

When coming out of high boost back to stock ECU there is still a small to medium jerk. Dunno if this can really be eliminated though, hence why people really love a pure Osiris MAF based tune.

My transition into boost is also smooth but back out is the problem.

Is your ECU stock or reflashed?
