Smoke at startup

Just installed a used (supposedly 1500 miles on the kit) APS single turbo on a 2005 G35 coupe with 75,000 miles - Dyno numbers before install were 225 whp. After install 336 whp, Boost is 8.75psi and holds stable.

However, we are getting blue smoke on start-up that disappears after about 15 minutes of driving and does not happen again until car has completely cooled down and restarts. I know that this may mean seals are gone but I would have thought that if the seals were gone we would smoke all the time to some extent. Exhaust is dead clear after the initial burn-off. The turbo is a Garrett BB and the whole kit was professionally installed. What am I missing here?

Turbo seals = oil in the charge pipes. I'd take one off close to the maf and see if there is oil coating the inside of the pipe. During running, the oil doesn't leak fast enough to smoke. But let the car sit and the oil has time too pool.

Or take off the upper plenum and expect for excessive blow by?

I believe the single APS turbo uses a Sump pump for the oil return.

I would look into that possibly being faulty or not evacuating the oil well enough
