Angry Bent Impellar

Bought a used procharger off someone from this site, described as having ony 4500 miles and in working order. Receive it today in the mail and here is what the head unit looks like - What do you think? After contacting him he states that "Its all good" "It will still work" What do you think?

I'm sorry but that impeller is severly damaged. While it will make boost, it will be FAR less efficient and will eventually ( in short time ) cause bearing failure and impeller failure. If the impeller fails, pieces of the wheel will find their way into your engine. Don't risk it.

That was my thought as well - Will try to work out with the seller if not my first thing will be to start the dispute process with paypal. I did only pay $2450 for the kit - how much would a rebuild run me? Would it be worth to keep it and rebuild it?

I think I remember someone saying APS charges like $400? for a rebuild. That definitely needs it, guaranteed that will only make like 4psi.

APS makes turbo kits...this is a procharger...lol. Regardless, a new impeller should cost about that much anyways and assuming the bearing is not yet damaged, you could probably change it out yourself.

i also have a procharger,my impeller is also bent similar to that, def needs to be replaced,or possibly machined..simply call procharger, tell them what is wrong, youll have to send them te blower they will then replace the impeller and any other malfunctioning parts, ive already had this done once, problem is they DO NOT want any type of filter on blower.youll have to use a peice of fine metal mesh...not sure what the cost is,mine was under warranty at the time

Its around $400-$700 .....I would have the seller cover most of that because he told you the kit was good.....IMO...he should refund you atleast $400...good luck.

Let me know how it works out....

yeah it will work fine... with lower boost. And couple hunderd miles later you will end up with bearing failure and then the impeller will have play causing it to hit the housing and later just break appart. best thing to do is just get the seller to pay you for a new impeller
