Finaly Joining the darkside

Hey guys, After overcoming some obstacles I am finaly getting boosted. Very exited, It has been about three years searching, reading learning and asking and with the help and advice of the G community I am ready. Scheduled install is Feb 22 - Here is the list

05 Gsedan AT5, 45,000 pampered miles

1. Stillen Headers
2. Stillen High Flow Cats
3. Stillen True dual exhaust
4. Copper Iso Thermal 5/16th Spacer
5. Greddy Emanage Ultimate
6. UR Pullies (soon to be removed)
7. Stillen engine brace
8. Oem z tube

These boltons (1-8) have been on my car for a solid 3 years - Before tune netted 243 whp after tune 260whp - Lost my graph so I can't post it.

Come Feb 22 2010 I will be adding:

9. Procharger with Intercooler (Procharger freshly rebuilt)
10. 7lb Pully
11. AAM Flex Brace
12. HKS Camp with LCD Screen for Guages
13. Transgo Kit
14. Going with secondary Injection which is basically adding 2 injectors to your stock system, size depending on your power output. This setup is supposed to dramaticaly improve drivability and scaling issues.
15. J&S Ultra safeguard
16. Contemplating Meth Injection.

Not looking to be the fastest, but fast and as reliable can be. Don't beat on my car but do enter it in shows often.

I'll keep you guys posted with the process, issues along the way, Numbers and all else. Any feedback welcome

Also - Here is a picture of my car, not the best quality sorry about that. Sitting on Tein basic coilovers with 20x9.5 - 20x10.5 Staggered MK rims - Fenders rolled and widened

I wouldn't worry about meth injection. Get a new gasket and sleeve it up, new connecting rods and pistons oh and get your clutch done too.

I might eventually build, but thought I'd try a decent set up on a stock block first. Many people with the right supporting mods and a good tune have had great success with a stock block. This is my first experince with boost, I figured I'd get my feet wet first, sort of as a learning process before I invest and take it all the way. Like I said I don't need to be the fastest, I love the power I have now being NA. I think I will be more than satisfied with the results. By the way, I am a 5at and will decide whether or not in the future to build my tranny along with a motor build.

you can just save and forget the blower and replace the engine with an ls1 engine or a rb26

Jackus, Thanks for your suggestions much appreciated but an engine swap to me sounds drastic for the goal that I am trying to acheive, I got the Procharger fairly cheap and getting a great deal with install, so economicaly this is a better route. Not to mention the VQ is a great engine with good potential - To me this is the first step to an addicting, everchanging, can't make up your mind type of thing - Known as the "Mod Bug" To me the best thing is to be patient & start slow and gradualy upgrade. Saving money is great but not really the underlying issue with me, I have the funds saved to fully build the engine, blow it up and fully build again - what is most important is knowing what your goal is and work towards it the smartest way possible, no wat a mean vern

haltech. dw 600cc injectors. walbro 255. fuel return. zeitronix wideband/boost/egt/user input/etc to monitor things.

just do it right the first time. secondary injectors arent as efficient at atomizing the fuel equally in all 6 cylinders. with the products listed above, you'll be safe for reliability and longevity.

i'd go with a pulley that will put you around 9psi at redline. after a tune with a pulley that'll put you around 7psi, you'll be upset and wish you went for a bit more. so save yourself the time and money a tune will cost you.

i wasnt necessarily saying your original post was fail. i was referring more to the people who posted about sleeving your block, blah blah and then swapping a v8. (sorry no offense to you) its just not necessary.

good luck with your set up. being supercharged is certainly fun. i had a vortech and made ~400 whp. have fun dude.

Thanks man, This is great info that I will heavily consider, I figured the 7lb pulley will put me in the 330-350 whp range which is a good start. There is a 9lb pulley available that will prob put me closer to 380-400whp - Ive read many posts saying a return fuel system is really not needed when producing 400 or below whp. Also in my original list I forgot to mention i have the wahlbro fuel pump, tranny cooler & oil pan spacer

right but keep in mind the desire for more HP. i ran a vortech without a fuel return and it ran just fine. but like many more, i wanted more power. then went with return, bigger injectors, and haltech. if i could have done it over, i'd have done it this way the first time.

deanfootlong mentioned some good options for your procharger. I also have a procharger and using DW 600 injectors, walbro fuel pump, utec for the tuning, and the 9lb pulley. A couple of others things you might want to consider: 1 step colder spark plugs and switching out the stock bpv ( not the best quality piece ). I used the tuboxs h34 bpv. I see you are going with the transgo kit definitely a good choice. I just installed mine a couple of months ago and what a difference.

Thanks for the info guys, just sent an email to my shop inquiring about the 9lb pully, fuel return system & DW 600 injectors. He is working up a price for me. The kit I purchased came with an HKS blow off valve. Brotus, how much HP are you putting down & how many miles have you been boosted so far, any amjor issues - Thanks
