Build Turbo Kit or Pre built?

Ok, I am new to FI on my G. However, I am currently rebuilding my 12 sec eclipse so I am not new to the FI world. My question is... When I turboed my non turbo eclipse I could have bought a turbo kit for it for roughly $2500-$3000. I ended up spending less than $1000 (minus my Stand alone Computer), to fully build it. Can I build a kit for my G. I've looked at what kits consist of, and I can build, buy used, and buy cheaper new parts than what comes in the kit. It seems like the kits come with top of the line everything. For example I can get a used $800 intercooler for $400 used if I take the time to look around. What do you think? Do I make a good point or should I have the nearest person to me slap me in the face and knock me out of inexpensive G35 FI dreamland.

Yea man I'd just order Ebay turbo and piece it together yourself for like 800 bucks. Better yet forget about spending 800 dolla on ebay turbo kit.
Just get the one of these>>>http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Fake-...item439e882612

I just dont understand why buy a kit when I could piece one together for half the price. Plus I have the same turbo that the Greddy kit comes with laying around in my closet. It just seems like a waste of money to throw into something that can be had for cheaper.

Haha that actually pretty funny. But still doesnt answer my question. Tell me why I cant buy everything thats in the kit separately. I'm not going to buy ebay parts, I'm going to buy used parts.

As long as the parts are in good working order, there shouldn't be a problem with it. People buy used turbo/sc kits from the marketplace here all of the time. And piece together whatever remaining parts that they don't have.

No problem. Like I said, as long as the parts are in good working order, it all comes down to a quality install and tuning anyways.

if you built your eclipse what's the point of asking the question? you should know already you can build one yourself if you know how to cut and weld ss/aluminum mandrel bent tubing.

too bad this guy's pictures are gone.

I was just double checking. Flow rates arent a huge factor in the death of eclipse motors, however I have a buddy who has an GTO with an LS1 and if you screw flow rates up on that, your valves are toast. Better to be safe than sorry.

This guy built his own kit and now he sells them his SN over here is 350Z T. I think his kits are much cheaper than others on the market.
