Electric Supercharger?
#16
Unfortunately based on measurements superchargers require 3.5-5 HP [depending on mass of impeller] to compress 3.5 liters of air to 1.0 PSI.
1.0 psi is a air mass increase of 6.8% which must be decreased by 1% [of gross total power] for every 11F the compression raises the air temperature flowing into plenum.
Unfortunate an electric motor in the air path to turn the compressor blade ADDS a tremendous amount of heat to the air way over and above the amount from compression.
2500 watts is ~~ 7.500 btu but then again it takes a few seconds for the electric motor heat to get to air via conduction/radiation.
Anyway even at very low psi [< 1.0 psi] electric superchargers are way less than half as efficient as radial belt driven superchargers.
A TINY 5>10 HP jet of Nitrous would be more significant.

Well, electric motor does not have to be in the path- think of it like electric driven centrifugal charger. It already exist-only problem is big DC motor(s) driven by extra batteries which all add cost and weight.
(All of you Honda hating flame throwers please check Thomas Knight Electrical Supercharged L30 KA24DE).
All I was looking is similar electrical technology to come out- with Li-Ion batteries made which will available mild boost on demand for less $ then conventional FI.
Too bad, I only could found those cheap e-bay fans.

A leaf blower has been shown to make power on a 2L Honda engine. If the electric supercharger can make 3lbs of boost on a 3.5L engine... then go for it. If it doesn't work there is always another sucker like you to sell it to.
Only thing I can think of is to just try it in a real world scenario. We can sit here and throw physics at you all day, but until you put it on dyno we don't really know what will happen.
I had a 2001 Monte Carlo SS and people would empty the washer fluid reservoir, put dry ice in it and then plumb the tubing into the plenum. They would make a pass down the track once without this setup and again while holding down the button to activate the washer fluid... and it would pump the ice cold air into the plenum. Some guys were pulling 0.2-0.4 gains depending on their mods already.
Point is? Anything is possible... lol. You just might look like a dumb**** doing it.

wonder if this works with the cosworth plenum?
