The black SP 350z and black IP 350z both get around 28 MPG which was stated by the shops. That 28MPG could even get better on a Revup G or Z or VVEL G37 370z. All I know is it takes way more E85 to make the same HP as regular 93 octane so I don't know how in hell ur going to get better mileage unless you tune it down to say 100hp?

They say nothing about mileage on that GTR, only that they had to significantly increase the size of the injectors...LOL

E85 is 100 octane so that yields better MPG. It's 55-60 cents cheaper than gas here. It does require more volume/hp but the fact that it is 100 octane which yields better MPG and cheaper than gas by a good amount makes up for the fact that more is required for the same HP level. Not to mention that it's A LOT safer to run than 93 octane for high HP applications. It's as safe as race gas without the high cost. You're going to hit a barrier on 93 octane at 600+whp without water/methanol but E85 can yield 1000+ whp just like race gas. All the turbo cars that I've seen in person run E85 and get very good mileage. 3 DSMs at 400+-500+whp and 1 800whp Supra which I am not allowed to post.

Either way I would NEVER buy gas or anything for that matter from the clitorectomy Saudis with a turbocharged car.

Dude you're totally wrong about E85...it does not improve economy. In fact it's completely opposite. The 100 octane is great for high HP builds, but the lower energy content actually reduces MPG.

A quick Google search and tons of evidence refutes your claims. The best E85 can do is come close (but still worse).

We put the Tahoe through our full series of fuel-economy and acceleration tests while running on each fuel (see test results). When running on E85 there was no significant change in acceleration. Fuel economy, however, dropped across the board. In highway driving, gas mileage decreased from 21 to 15 mpg; in city driving, it dropped from 9 mpg to 7.

You could expect a similar decrease in gas mileage in any current FFV. That's because ethanol has a lower energy content than gasoline: 75,670 British thermal units per gallon instead of 115,400, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). So you have to burn more fuel to generate the same amount of energy. In addition, FFV engines are designed to run more efficiently on gasoline. E85 fuel economy could approach that of gasoline if manufacturers optimized engines for that fuel.

djamps is correct. E85 is only economical because it costs less - and that only because it is subsidized. Cruising mpg will decrease. Joe K (MADScientist) converted to E85 and made the trip out to ZdayZ year before last. He was trying to eek out every last mile because he had to go to specific stations for fill up as he crossed the country. He noted several mpg drop (not horrible, but certainly no increase) compared to pump gas. Octane is only indirectly related to mpg (in that you can run higher compression without knock, use less displacement for same power, etc.).

As already stated, you will not get 30mpg on a G with E85. Heck...even on regular 93 I find it hard to believe. Maybe on a downhill slope you may get 30mpg....but on an entire tank I fail to see the possibility.

The real cost of a gallon of gas in this country is $15.00 per gallon if you count where it coming from, the cost of war, the cost of human life, the cost of importing it here and the environmental cost. The hole point of E85 is that it's made here and not bought from foreign countries like Saudi Arabia that makes an absurd profit selling it, Venezuela, Equador, and soon Brazil.

Either way the cost of subsidized E85 made here is A LOT lower then the cost of subsidized foreign gasoline. And it doesn't start any god damn ****ing wars.

And in the end people can run whatever they want. Personally I AM NOT buying a single gallon from Saudi Arabia with a turbo car. Period. I can even run E85 without turbocharging and I will probably do that first.

I think he forgot to mention that the G/Z was in neutral and being pulled by a tow truck....that's how you can get 30 + mpg.

Since going FI I think my best was 15MPG? Average 12? LOL

Just because you can get 30mpg momentarily doesn't mean your car can average that ( which is what really matters ). We have gas guzzling cars...it's a love hate relationship.

rcdash said E85 was subsidized which it is just like gasoline and I was replying to that part of his post.

If you're doubtful about E85 don't run it. It's fine. Run whatever

MPG is worse. BUT $ per mile are better even with worse mpg So while filling up more, it will cost less.
