Vortech V3 Oil Change

Has anyone or does anyone know how to change the oil on the V3 Vortech SC?

I know there is a drain line but i am not sure where i put the new oil in the unit and if all the oil will just naturally drain out of the line when i open it...

see attached image. the fill plug is the one on top and the dipstick is the plug on the side/below. use the funnel cap and fill slowly. start checking the level after you've put half the bottle in the blower. don't overfill.

the lubricant in the blower will drain out when you crack open the drain line. btw, don't freak out when the fitting on the bottom of the line starts to rotate after you break the bolt loose...its not broken even though a little fluid will start seaping out. once you reinstall & tighten the bolt the line is sealed and the fitting won't rotate.

no problem. of all things, you'd think vortech would be clear about this topic.

I just did my first v3 oil change - and I'm pretty sure it is overfilled. I say pretty sure because it is really hard to tell if there is any lubricant above the hatches on the dipstick. Also, when checking the level, do you screw the dipstick all the way in and then out or just as deep as the threads?

Out of the 4oz bottle, how many ounces of lubricant do you end up using?

screw it in all the way when checking the level

my blower usually takes just under one full bottle of lubricant (zing!)
