decisions decisions

i am very interested in getting either a supercharger or a twin turbo kit some sort of forced induction. i cant seem to get any really good dyno numbers, which would creat the most power while not destroying the engine?

i love anything with a motor most of all the G35 Coupe

Re: decisions decisions

vortech has proven 350-400+ with out internals. the vortech is the most userfriendly kit i think besides the stillen but u dont have to get a hood for the vortech.

Re: decisions decisions

Yes the Vortech is the easiest to use and install and the cheapest in price . If money is no object....the APS TT looks to be the best TT . The Turbo set up makes gobs trq down low . Most TT set ups can match WHP and TRQ , or get real close . The Vortech will make far less trq

Couldnt afford it when young...gonna play when Im old

Re: decisions decisions

Damn Randy, where are you getting all that torque? I would figure with that hp you would be around 315-320. I was at 370hp with 302tq.

Re: decisions decisions

on your sheet it was 388hp/329tq and it was test on The Dyna Pack which reads approximately 10-15 hp higher than a DynoJet dynamometer.did i miss something? did you add anything else since?

Re: decisions decisions

yes, I had a second tune done based on boost (my first was based on rpm)...with only 6psi (my belt was slipping) I made 335ftlbs and 377 hp (that 388hp and 329ftlbs was with 9psi)...my tuner said if the belt would have held up and not slipped, allowing a full 9psi pull, I would have made over 335ftlbs and well over 400rwhp...I'm going to tighten the belt and rerun it soon...

I got 415 rwhp and 378 ft/lb tq on a Greddy kit with a very conservative tune and tons of safety modifications.....Aquamist, Head gasket etc. It was definately more expensive than the Vortech, but the extra torque and turbo characteristics made it SO worth it.

+1 on the Vortech. With a super conservative tune, the kit in my sig got 378rwhp and 331rwtq (I've got the dyno sheets to prove it).

With the Vortech kit, the linear power is like having a built in traction control system which is another nice feature IMO.

I just got home from the dyno, and I'm dissapointed with the numbers...

I have a vortech on an 04 6mt coupe. they used a "Mustang Dyno".
The first run had WHP at 281, and after they tuned it, they were able to get up to 304 WHP. They told me that the Mustang Dyno is generally 10-15% lower then dynojet. But even with the margin, it would only bring the WHP up to 350. I was under the impression that bolted on the vortech delivered 350, and tuned closer to 380 WHP. I also have a greddy evo2 exhaust which I thought was going to bring the number up a bit.

Is there something wrong with my unit?
It also makes that rattle noise at idle. One tech said he has heard it before but another said that it sounded like a problem, so I am going to take the car to vortech in LA and have them listen to it, because it really does irratate me.
