Booger, do I only need to give them the K #, or will they need to other numbers too? Please reply ASAP as I'm going to pick it up as soon as I hear your response

Re: Vortech...belt always slippin...

What I mean is, what does the "6PK2364" portion of that number mean? I called a place and they said that had the K060930 in stock, but will that be all they need in order to give me the right belt?

Re: Vortech...belt always slippin...

booger, you and tig have the 9lbs pulley, don't you? I ask because I still have the 8lbs and bought the *930 and it didn't fit...I had to go and get the 935....and, I'm still unsure how tight the belt should be...I thought I had it tight enough...went out did some driving...went to dinner and when the car cooled down and I restated it, a loud squeal can from the belt for at least 30 sec....I popped the hood and notice that the belt was loose....I did tighten the tensioner pulley tight enough and it's not loosening from that...I'm assuming it just stretch and I need to retighten...ppl say .4 inch travel, but how it that determined? I can make any belt travel the distance I want just by applying more pressure to the belt when testing....HELP....sorry for the rant...

1500 miles on the supercharger with the original goodyear belt. I'm still hitting 8lbs at the rev limiter with stock ecu.

Update

I installed the Gates belt, waited a few days and tightened it again and no more slippage. I do want to make one correction. The 93" belt will not fit safely on the 8lbs pulley setup...I tried and it wasn't happening...I had the tensioner pulley backed all the way out and it still wouldn't fit...93.5 works and I can see why the Gates works so well, it's double the thickness of the stock belt....anyways...thought I would share...

Yes, I did the same. Bought the gates manufactured Nappa autoparts belt. That thing is way thick! The car hasn't been this quiet since I put the s/c on.

Nark, good to see this was resolved...maybe you should contact your peeps at Vortech and let them know to ship with these belts...oh, and while you're calling them, ask them what's up with the carb cert. I am scared to death that I'll get pulled over and the officer will flat bed my car!

Yeah, but cops are getting more edu on this stuff. Plus, you can't hide that audible spool!

Keep in mind also we're driving a more prestigious car, I never get hassled by the fuzz. I think that they think the car is some special editoin skyline or something. And trust me, my car is loud!

Yeah, probably as loud as mine. I haven't installed any BOV filter and this thing sings at idle, sounds like a jet at 2k rpm and the BOV is the loudest I've heard. We should meet up some time to talk G.
