Got the itch!

Hey there guys,
First time posting on the site, been reading for the past year or more though. I've been doing some research on the FI stuff for the past few months. My car is a 06 coupe 6mt with just over 60,000 km on it. I installed Borla headers and exhaust a few months ago. I now only drive it as a weekend warrior when the weathers good! I live in southern Ontario, so lately it hasn't been out much with all this rain. I dont plan on making this car a 10 second 1/4 mile car. I understand that a supercharger isn't going to give me the most options down the road to make the hp much higher like a turbo/tt would. I understand no F/I is as reliable as a stock engine but it seems like the vortech system has a good reputation.

From what I'm reading is the V3 doesn't require the oil pan to be drilled. While the V-2 does because it doesn't have the internal lubricating system.

I guess my question comes down to, is there any disadvantages to the V-3 supercharger (other then having another fluid to change) or any reason someone would go V-2?

Sorry if its a simple question but I want to make the correct decision.

Many thanks in advance.

Welcome, and I gotta say...loving those wheels....so familiar....

lol Are your's 19's or 20's? I'm a turbo guy myself though so I can't speak personally on the V2 vs V3 Vortech set-ups, but the whole F/I itch, is a great one to scratch Either way I don't think you will be disappointed!

My350z.com might have more info? The FI section over there is much busier than the one here.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I actually went with the 19's. 8.5 upfront and 9.5 in the rear.
I still dont know about the grille. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I dont. I dont want to get a body kit though. So I either want to get a better fitting one or go back to stock and paint it black with the Infiniti logo unpainted.

From my understanding, the the only difference between the two systems is it's oil delivery, there should be no performance differences. Though some people prefer the V2 because it's the "tried and true" system, while the V3 is relatively new. Also, people say it's more convenient to only have to change the oil once for the motor and blower, rather than having to change the motor oil and blower oil at different intervals.

That being said, I bought the V3 myself.
