The cooler was the first thing I brought up and yes- the priority. I simply commented on the transgo because you said that would cramp on your emerg funding.

And no, actually... I'm not the guy to help you. I'm the guy that started out the same way you are (mind you, with a job), doing all my research online and trying to figure out who to listen to. And what they told me was "find a shop you can trust, keep money ready in case you need to rebuild, don't skimp on fuel and keep things cool." I have to pay to get people who know what they're doing to do most if not all of my work and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

I ended up with a shop I "thought" I could trust- but when the community I trusted were warning me off this shop- I ignored their advice. And that mistake has cost dearly.

Anyway man- I'm not shooting at you as much as kind of shaking my head that at this point getting your G in the FI state would be a priority.

Get that cooler!

Thanks for the advice, i do appreciate the wisdom being thrown around here. What coolers did you end up going with?

I ended up with a B+M cooler about 10x10x1.5 or so. Was really quite affordable and keeps my trans nice and cool. I was told in no uncertain terms that just because I have a fully built trans- it does not mean it's less prone to overheating.

Originally when I got my transgo I had a smaller cooler installed... but I was told that dimensions more to the tune of those above was what would be required with my power projections so I bumped it up. You may not need one quite that large... but it's a reasonable size without going to excess. When I upgraded I simply moved the smaller cooler over to the steering side- so now it's my steering cooler.

Picture included to give some scale.
