2005 6MT Vortech SC Build Begins

Well the mod bug bite me pretty hard ever since my bike has been gone needed that speed. Been lurking pretty hard for sometime and finally decided after months of reading i wanted to go with a vortech supercharger. I was going to buy brand new but a deal popped up and I didnt think i could pass it up. Thanks (Geeznuts). Got my hands on a:

Vortech V3
Walbro 255 fuel pump
Deatschwerks 600cc Fuel Injectors
Prosport Boost and Oil Pressure Gauge
AEM Wideband AFR Gauge
NGK LFR6AIX-11 one step colder plugs
Triple A-Pillar Gauge Pod.

I will be attempting to do this install myself and taking it to R/T Tuning locally to have it Osiris Revup Tuned. Hopefully everything goes smoothly but i know it wont as nothing car related ever does. Any advice would be great. I work during the day so this will take me time to complete this build but should be fun and a huge learning experience. Few spoiler shots.

sweet man..take your time and everything will be good. you dont even have to go through the hassle of tapping the oil pan with that V3...I did the install of my V2 kit on my 350z and really didnt have an issue..just took my time and read through the instructions real good, its not a bad project..Good luck..Which pulley are you running? imo dont bother with the stock 3.33...jump right to the 3.12 or even the 2.87 if your ballsy enough..also using uprev your gonna end up needing the pmas maf sensor or another similar, most people run out of maf using uprev

It came with the 3.12 pulley already on it. So what else should I be looking at a new upgraded maf.

It should take a Saturday to bolt it on if you're real slow it might take a weekend to wrap up.

as tyler said, go slow. its a very straightforward install, but be sure to double check the kit versus the instruction manual to make sure you have everything. and read the instructions a few times before you start.

Yeah I have read the instructions a few times. Big this is going to be running wires for gauges I think. Also getting the fuel pump and injectors in look a little tedious. Will see how it goes.

i did my install when the car was off the road for winter, so i was in no hurry and checked everything over and over and over, my suggestion is to do it right the first time though and just dont rush it. have another car to drive and double check everything and get it done correct, get all your pipes lined up correctly then tighten down. make sure you get the serpentine belt tightened correctly so you dont have any belt slippage, make sure you wire up the fuel pump and have the bpv adjusted correctly..it really is a straight forward install just dont rush it and you will be fine, double and tripple check everything so that it is correct and you dont have problems down the road is the best advice your gonna get...

injectors wont be bad, they are right there for you...getting in the fuel pump can be a little messy

dont be shocked if you find some oil in the plug holes when changing the plugs...depending on how bad it is you might want new valve covers (let us know where and how much oil you find)..i only had a little oil in one plug hole on driver side all the way back by the firewall and just dried it up and never had an issue...

Congrats and dont forget to get a new oring for when you pull the fuel pump assembly out....the old one tends to swell up and not seal if it gets into contact with gas.

^^^Yeah i have heard that are fuel injector o rings a must as well? Thinking on replacing them as not sure how old these ones are. Car is jacked up however my buddy doesn't think he has the capability of getting a clean weld on the AEM o2 bung how it sits. Going to check around with a few exhaust shops and see what they price it. Anyone know anyone in the Allentown PA area? If had enough extensions could probably pull the whole cat and have tons of room.

i think your rev-up setup comes with 3.12 as stock 8-9lb pulley (vs the 3.33 for non-revup). so do the next step smaller which i guess would be 2.87 9-10lb pulley

Hey,

You have a good list.
If you have the rev-up, it comes stock with the 3.12, and I wouldn't go to a 2.87 as you will be pushing it with a stock block a little too much.

I would get an aftermarket maf (around 350) and an oil cooler (w. thermostatic plate) (around 400).

Make sure to have a good supporting suspension, tires and brakes, so that you can have control of the new power! A better flowing exhaust will help free up some of the power potential.

I'm sure you'll love the car aftewards
