Anybody rock Stillen or does Vortech own the show?

Just wondering, I rarely see any post about Stillen superchargers and I'm guessing its mainly in part of that "ugly" hood that is automatically attached in the package...The Stillen deal has always seemed intriguing to me due to the warranty, does anyone on here have this kit? Is it as reliable as they claim? And how big of a difference is there in performance of a stage 2 stillen in comparison to the Vortech? Does the vortech blow it out of the water? I appreciate any answers to these questions, really it doesn't matter too much to me until stillen does something about that hood...Which after 2 year of it being out on the market with no changes, makes me feel changes are never coming...For now it looks like I'll most definately be going Vortech when I eventually begin the F/I venture (who knows when that will be)...Thanks guys

go with the vortech...the reason Stillen's system is so safe is because is comes PIG rich and cannot be tuned.

Sold since I upgraded to an E55.469hp with no mods. =)~

And I still think the stillen is safer than the vortech.

Did you get an E55? I thought YOU got the lower model and your dad got the E55? I misunderstood, I guess. =)

Over 2k miles here on the Vortech and very pleased.

Still on stock belt / pulley and hitting 8lbs of boost a rev limiter with stock ECU.

I hit 9.2lbs on one of those bitchin cold days!

So what I have gleaned from this so far is that the Stillen is safer for then engine and CARB legal. Where as the Vortech is tuneable and can make more power, but may give you a headache when it comes time to smog it. Did I miss anything?

To Stillens credit though, it's the only FI for the G that hasn't blown an engine!!

The Stillen is tunable! They use the same software as Vortec and APS(Split Second R4).
Stillen will sell the stage 4 for around $500(8lb pulley, a larger injector, and custom tuning) but you probably want to buy a larger fuel pump.
My buddy made me a 8lb pulley and we'll be tuning the kit.I just need to get a larger RC injector(I already know the size) and a new fuel pump(plug & play).
Why would anyone think the Vortec blows the Stillen out of the water?
At the same boost, the Stillen has way more TQ(The stuff that gets you movin)
The good thing about Stllen is that it matches HP with TQ.With the stage 2(5lbs of boost) I had 300hp & 300tq.I wonder what Vortec gets at 5lbs?
I've been seeng Vortec push 400hp(at almost twice the boost) with the same amount of TQ

APS uses the unichip. SSR/SFR uses the split second box to tune.
