Forced Induction Discussion of turbos , superchargers , and nitrous upgrades on the G35

Swapped to a 6MT and hit the dyno today...

Yeah From the tranny swap alone. I'd be doing 600 if I put new wastegate springs in.


I just gotta figure out how to drive this thing better before I consider it (And update the inside)

5AT will be faster even with a 100 hp difference - keeps the turbos spooled between shifts and the TC gets the engine into boost quickly. The 6MT is fun but is much harder to drive fast, consistently... so don't let the hp #s drive a decision.

^^ thats true - its just crazy to see that big of a difference in power from the transmission alone

There are too many factors to assign all of the power to the transmission swap - especially not having pre/post dynos that include the boost curve.

Also, JTrain, you don't need to change wastegate springs to hit 600+. You just need the proper octane fuel, a boost controller and a tune of course.

EDIT: Unless your springs are very soft (like 6-7 psi?)
