You seriously lack the knowledge and funds to do the build properly. You really have no idea what you even want to do. Just another pipe dream build thread that will never happen. Just fix your car and stick to bolt ons.

I'm ordering cams Springs and rods in 2 weeks. It's not a pipe dream. Gotta prep the engine with fi in mind later down the road.

not sure if crazy or serious...

For what? Maybe 300hp at the flywheel? Okay, maybe 310-320hp? I'd rather just slap a SC on the stock engine and run a conservative tune.

Possible but he'll need more parts. Long tubes, head work etc...

I didnt say 300 isnt possible on a DE, but it is with OPs budget. Highest NA DE I have ever seen was 312whp and it almost 20k in just parts alone (full internals, lightweight crank, clutch, light flywheel, L19s, head studs, custom ported heads, valves, springs, cams, larger maf, headers, exhaust, injectors, fuel pump, return fuel system, cosworth plenum, stand alone haltec).

OP is living a pipe dream.

He could but probably won't. That fact that his hp will end up low supports my case even more.

But I was referring to crank hp. You just quoted wheel hp

You can't just throw some new rods into your engine.. its a bit more complicated than that. With the SC you're also looking at a whole bunch of other supporting mods... fuel pump, injectors, transgo, custom dyno tune, etc etc it gets expensive real fast

I have a transgo

also the full stillen S/C kit covers fuel pump and injectors issue.

I thought that the rods in the vq35de were the weak point.

You'll still need a custom dyno tune that will cost around $1000

That is true to a point but you can't just replace the rods. At a minimum you'll need new bearings, gaskets, etc, and with the amount of labor required you'd have to be stupid to not upgrade some other parts at the same time. For a basic SC setup you really don't need to crack open the motor tho.. they never run quite the same and there's no way you're going to be making rod bending power with it. You'll be lucky to make 350 with a basic stillen kit.. lol
