I disagree with you on this....got the posts below from my350z. Both were posted by people who have a lot of experience with turbos and vq35. They are also 350z TT owners. If you get the added safety items you should be ok under 450rwhp.

One of the biggest limitations of the stock Greddy kit is lack of a return fuel system, rising rate FPR, and timing solution. If you address these, and also get the shielded crank angle sensor from the GB, I "think" you can run the car safely at 8.5psi. There are many of us on the boards that have done this already. I am still leaning towards poor tuning, and lack of a shielded crank angle cable, as the cause of most of the Greddy failures.

by phunk

if you go the greddy route just pick up the E01, ill get you special price on the CJM fuel system, add the MAP based tuning and ignition harness to your greddy kit and be in the same power area.

actally if this harness ever shows up this week, I have a greddy kit car that I am tuning for MAP with timing retard and the CJM fuel system, and I will be making the E-Manage tables available to the public so that a return fuel system, timing harness, and e-manage MAP accessories are all the Greddy kit owner needs to make the power they are looking for. my maps will be a conservative starting point for your E-Manage tuning, putting you in the position to only need to tweak to your own target goals.

Oh... and as for the subject of the thread... my greddy car made 467rwhp at 9 psi on stock engine and never blew up.

I plan on getting this motor from SGP.

Hit me up with the used Vortec price if you would. Also, hit me up with the date you plan on selling it and if you're changing out the stock Vortec Pulley.

TIA

I have a stock G...not a slow car in my opinion, but def not a "fast" car either...to me slow is a truck, van, station wagon.....and fast is corvette, m3, amg benz, exotic, etc...

however, i got SMMMMMOOOOKKKKKEEEEDDDDD by a modded STi the other night on the highway. Dude came at me when i was crusing at around 90...he flew past, then stopped, waited for me to catch up, then smoked the shiit outta me just for fun. We weved through traffic for a good 5 miles, then i finally got a straight-away while he was in traffic....i dropped it into 4th, redlined, 5th, redlined, then 6th...at about 130sih he came steaming by at a good pace and took me by about two car-lengths until we both backed off....DAMNN, Sti's are FAST cars....modded STis are Friigggin CRAZY!

Bottom Line: I need Twin-Turbo's.

build is coming sooner

Well something happend to my car on the dyno. I don't think the motor is blown....maybe damaged valves and springs. Anyway since the motor has to come out to fix I am going to build it. I don't have the money for the longblock so I am going with the ultimate short block and after thinking it over I think I will be happy with 500-550rwhp. I should hit those number with this set up. I will have more info as to what happened next week or so when SGP tears down my motor. I am kinda sad that I won't have my car for a good month and a half, but I am so excited about being able to boost to 18psi very soon

Sorry to hear that, I was following your progress over the past month. Don't feel bad, a forced upgrade is always a good thing if you know what I mean. I had to do the same thing with my VR4 when it skipped a few teeth and bent all the vavles and smashed all the pistons, well $6,000 later and a rebuilt engine with forged pistons and rods and all the other goodies and I am back on the road with 500+ AWHP, wife almost killed me but hey I'm here and doing the same thing again with the G....LOL.

Man, sorry to hear what happened. Guess our VQ is just not meant to handle 400+whp, some FI people are just lucky than others and are still up, but its just a matter of time. This is why I have'nt yet jumped in. Im really considering having the engine build-up done first. Building bottom end is good enough to get you to 550rwhp. Another $7-8K for that upgrade.

Thanks for the comments guys. Oddly enough, I am not that upset. Although I can't say the same about the wife. The build up is going to cost me about $5900 bucks. This includes pulling and reinstalling the motor. I have a brand new set of tein basic coilovers then I still have not recieved that I plan on selling to help pay for this. The good news is I will almost be done with the car. The only thing else I want is the top secret body kit and the coilovers.
