Where did you drop your block off at? SGP got mine last Thursday. Should have it back the end of May early June. Isn't this whole process killing you? I have not had my car since 03/24/05.

Ok, so they took apart my motor and I have a bent rod from running lean.

From running lean? Does that mean this could have happened to a n/a G35?

I don't know....someone chime in on this. I;ll take a guess. It could happend but if you are running n/a and not pushing that much more whp than OEM it would not be as common.

Were you hearing any signs of detonation? Did the lean condition show up on your dyno's? I know these are pretty stupid questions but I'm curious.

If they were tuning your car on a dyno then they should have been reading the AF readings to have at least seen the dip when it occured, if that is the case then they should have backed off or calibrated it to the correct mixture.....that is if this is what they were doing. It takes quite a bit of detonation before it ruins a piston or bends a rod.

Things are starting to get crazy!

Well I have decided to go with the bad boy of motor. I am going with the Upgraded long block. Even though it is a couple thousad more and I don't need this for my power goal, I choose this route cause I won't have to boost as much to hit my power goals. Instead of having to boost my daily driver to 17psi to hit my goal, I will be able to hit 550 at 11 or so psi's......much less stress on the motor. Here's what I am getting.

Upgraded Long Block #3: $7500

Block oil passages cleaned
Block redecked
Block Bored and Honed using a Torque Plate
Crank balanced
Crank journals polished
New Main and Rod bearings w/ceramic coating
Pauter Rods
ARP Rod Bolts
CP Pistons .020 over(8.5:1 or 11.5:1)
*Ceramic coating on Pistons
ARP Main Studs
ARP Head Studs
Heads oil passages cleaned
Heads redecked
Ported exhaust and intake runners
*JWT Upgraded Cams
*JWT HD Valve Springs
5 angle valve job
Valve Stem Heights set
Cold Clearance set
New Valve stem seals
New Nissan Head gaskets
New Nissan Oil Pump
New Nissan Cam seals
