Ok, I did it. After only 3 weeks of having my vortech installed I decided I want more power.....especially after I got torqued by an STI the other night on the freeway. Please make any recommendations on other items (cheap items) you would suggest I get. When I say cheap I mean little items.

I am planning on building the motor within 6-12 months. I would do it now but the wife would divorce me. She is having a cow about how much money I've spent on the car. For now I plan on running 9lbs. I should have my car back by next friday......I am so fuggin happy!

Here's what I got:

Greddy Type S boost controller

AAM Spec Fuel Return Solution (bought from Sharif)

Congrats on the Greddy TT kit. 9lbs boost, around how much rwhp would that get you? Have you considered upgrading the Cam, that way you could run a lower boost to be safe? I say, since your planning on building the motor, probably best to wait on your TT kit install, its the best route and you'll save time and money. 6-12 months is not that long.

 

I should be around 425-435rwhp...I have seen guys with 8lbs around 415rwhp. If I do the cams now that is more labor $$$$...cam installs are really expensive. I am just going to buy a built motor from sgp racing that comes with cams. I will loose less money this way than if I add cams now. I just can't wait 6-12 months.....I want power now!

Was that STI heavily moded? You telling me your vortech could not take him?

 

I have no idea what he had. I am sure he was modded because he came from behind and passed me like I was standing still.

 

Im sure it was modded, I can tell you my G isnt the fattest car on the road but I know I can take a stock STI. Congrats on the new mods. Only if I had the ***** to go greddy! That 7500 motor is holding me back!

 

Is that $7500 + $2000 core price, mean you send your engine to them for exchange?

 

I know I try not to think about the money......mods so far to day......$22,719 This includes the s/c install/tune and the money I will get back from the s/c sale is already substracted.

Wow thats alot of $ into your hobby. Like they alway say, its best to plan ahead. Probably best if you know your planning on going FI, and 330-370rwhp is not fast enough, then you should plan on getting a TT kit and plan on doing an engine build, before installing the TT kit. Best to do it right the first time. Maybe I should follow this route.

 

Gman, any plans on selling your vortech?!?! man, props to say the vortech isnt enough power!! Good luck on your quest for speed/power, hopefully you'll run into that STI once you have the TT on....

BTW, I noticed you also have a y-pipe and greddy sp2 and you have a 3'' back pipe (mid pipe). I was in the market to purchase the greddy sp2 and already have a Y pipe, but need a 3'' backpipe!! Where did you, or where can I get a 3'' mid/back pipe to fit the 3'' outlet on the Y pipe as well as the inlet on the greddy sp2?!?

Yes definately plan your route first. When I first got the car I was not going to do anything to it.......then all of a sudden I bought a little sound system, then exhaust, then this, then that......I caught a fuggin disease! I will probably will loose around $2000 on the s/c between parts and install labor....not too bad but, it hurts to think about it!!!!!!!!!!

Man, your scarring me now, I said the same freak'n thing when I bought my G. Until I got on this forum, thats when I got the disease. Rims, bodykit, exhaust, now going FI. Audio/video is my last project. Definitely contagious. Need to trash my computer, will probably solve my problem.

 

Lately I spend 8-10 hours a day on this freaking board and my350z . I bought a wireless router so I can walked around the house with my laptop.......I take it to the shieter with me!
