Vortech T-trim results

I got the car on the [ Mustang ] dyno for the first time since the rebuild and blower up grade . Not what I expected . I got 400whp and 319trq. A 50whp and 30trq. gain over my last set up . Boost leveled off at 6,300 rpm at 13.5psi . Belt is as tight as I would want to go and it still slips .
The AT5 in this car is killing the WHP and trq numbers . If the 10 to 12 % diff. holds true between the Mustang and Dynojet dyno , I would be in the 440 to 450 range .

I hate to say it but the way that thing was designed with the super long belt (454 chevy belt) from the crankshaft to the idler pully is plain rediculous. They should have utilized a shorter belt and a longer cog belt, or even two cog belts like the ATI system uses I believe.

After transforming from the vortech SC to the APS TT I'm glad to say that I don't miss the belt dust and squealing!

Good luck man

I dont get belt dust....And I knew it wouldnt be long till a TT guy came in and said some thing . But your right about the belt . But they didnt design it to make 13 to 14 psi . With the ATI ...do they change out the whole pulley system ? If not...they still need to run a serp pulley to run the cog belts and it also would have a psi level where the belt would start to slip

Booger, is there anyway we can change the belt to a toothed belt like the cog belt, I was just looking at the belt last week and I just can't see anyway it would hold at a higher boost level, whereas the toothed cog belt would stand a better chance.

We looked at that to and it doesnt look like there is any room to do any thing . I would like to see a ATI set up . to see how its set up . If my belt didnt start to slip at 13.5 psi , we would have gotten up to 15psi at redline . The way the car pulls . I would of thought I would be in the 450whp range . If I went to a DynoJet dyno Im sure I would have seen 450whp . We only have Mustang dyno's around here [2] Ive dynoed on both and they always seem to be within 2 or 3 hp of each other .
