i need a baseline map for the vortech splitsecond box ASAP!
so i ordered and installed my vortech supercharger kit and drove up to my mechanic to get a tune and apparently i got shipped a splitsecond with completely blank maps. does anyone have a baseline map they can send me by any chance?
im out of town at the shop and here we are with our thumbs up our asses until we can get a map

yeah ive been driving around with it for a week (approx 500 miles) on the stock tune. i havent had a wideband on it yet, we just connected to the ecu and the connection went ok, but the tables all had 0 values.
we may have got a hold of a baseline g35 map from someone it looks like, but if you happen to have a factory vortech file that would be really handy
its an 03 btw.

There is a base map in the Split second piggyback .Connect to the piggyback with the lap top . Up in the top left hand corner..there are two boxes . When you put the mouse on them ...one says write to ECU and the other says read the ECU . Click on the one that says read the ECU...that will load the MAPS to your laptop

right, we did that...actually i didnt see him click the "read ecu" button but i pointed it out and he reassured me several times that he did that and thats how we got the tables full of 0s.
but vortech just sent us a stock map and we got it loaded so were up and running...
thanks for the help anyway

Open the R4 program.....you will have select a com port...then connect to the Spit Second ECU .
Even a better idea is to go to Split Second web site and down load or read the file...U-TUNE....this will tell you how to up load and save the base map that is already in the SS box . www.splitsec.com

COOOOOL.....good luck
with out touching the timing thats pretty good . With the 3.12 pulley and A/F tuned ...timing set to 14 to 15 degree BTDC at redline . I made 350whp on a Mustang dyno, thats on a AT5 03 G35 . I figured I was right on par with the guys making 390 to 410 whp on a DynoJet . Track times and trap speeds were all close to one another also

neffster:
Do you have a dynojet near by?
yes, the shop charges $75 for 2 pulls...i was thinking of heading over there just to compare numbers but im not sure that its worth paying for
What was your boost at when you hit 300rwhp?
it was around 5.8 psi i believe. the dyno was 3000ft above sea level, which is about a 1.5 psi difference. so effectively 7 and a half psi or so?
Can you get your belt any tighter?
nope, it was JUST tightened prior to tuning and going on the dyno. shes tight!
Did you have the stock wheels on?
yes, stock 03 18" wheels

are there known issues doing timing on this car? i havent noticed anyone on the forums saying anything about that.
