My fully built APS TT motor is very tame under normal driving conditions. Even with the cams I doubt my Mom would ever know I changed anything on the car.

But, as soon as you get on it it wakes up and throws you back like no other. If you hit it around a corner it will go all over, but, luckily the G is well balanced enough that its not hard to control (and somewhat fun!). If I go from 4th to 2nd I think I would spin my tires until there was no tire left!!!

As far as safety goes, I know my tires are getting a little worn down so I dont punch it in the corners, as it is right now it'll lose traction in 3rd on a cool day. After a while you get a feel for the limits of the car in the curves.

Rain I dont hit boost at all, the car still acts as if its N/A if you drive normal.. no traction issues there with a good set of tires. (I recommend BF Goodrich KDW 2's)

You will hit the rev limiter..its ineveitable if you go turbo because it revs up so quick, 4000 miles later I still have to watch my rpm's because it is easy to forget.

Those are really the only things I worry about.. consistently check under the hood for anything out of the ordinary or leaks and you should be good to go.
That has been exactly my experience too. I love it. I also have the BFG KDW2s, but the Michelin Pilots (stock) were better I find. I can completely spin 1st, 2nd and get a good spin in 3rd. 4th can sometime chirp too. Around corners, 2nd gear is fun because it's easy to make the tail end let go. Even in third....

Didn't pass the wife test though. (too bad for her)
I don't mind it nearly as much as test pipe rasp.
I'm at 350hp/310tq on a pretty conservative tune. On cold days the car is definitely more powerful.
I too like the stock look. I put in some diverters in the lower grills to allow all the air coming in the lower grills to go through the intercooler. I also used fat mat to cut some of the belt noise. No more belt noise but the stlight whine is still there. Not the prettist stuff, but very effective. I also have stock rims with 275 goodyear f1 gs. Very nice tire. I'm about to widen my stock tires to 10 or 10.5 inches & will probably put 315's on there.
(an idea I got from another member here) more sleeper effect.
I'll cover that in another thread when the tims comes.
It'll spin 'em through 1st & 2nd gear if turning a corner.
I honestly DON'T put it to the floor very often. Don't need to!!!
I haven't open her up on the highway yet. mostly local driving,
I gone up to 100 once or twice on quiet "highway-like" roads & it gets there fast, real fast.

I'll take a few finished pics this weekend. I'll be happy to answer any questions here on through e-mail. peace baileyrx@aol.com
Fat mat??
Ugghhh!! I can't wait to get mine.

That right there says it all!

I'll chime in also, built motor with APS TT, drives normal when not pushing it at all, actually manage to get almost 27 miles per gallon, soon as I push it, all hell breaks loose and I have no traction in first or second gear but I love it to death

Thanks for the continued updates. I'm waiting to find out whether my company will close a big deal on Wednesday, if it happens, I'll finally be able to justify spending the additonal scratch on a FI setup.

I've been obsessing about this, 2 days ago I had full night dream about getting an APS kit installed by GRD, but instead of Tuan running the shop it was Sheriff, who I've never met.

Anyway wish me luck in this so I can finally give this G what it deserves.

I know what you mean. I've been obsessing about the Stillen Stage II. I've spent so much time on the forums lately reading up on FI. It's definately not a small chunk of change, but hopefully it'll be worth it...both in performace and reliability.

I have a 5AT as well, I'm going to budget for a Qualife diff and a VB upgrade. I hope I can do the entire build on the stock block for under 12K. I'm shooting for 380-400 hp/tq.

Traction is a big concern so I'm trying to balance good power level and control.

At 10 psi I was at 410, this may change as I do not have a good exhaust setup until tonight.

Im not sure what TT set up you have , but I find it real f-cking funny that there are guys that claim more than you with a Vortech SC at the same psi level . Most of the ones Ive seen post with 10psi like your self . Post up 400 to 480psi on 10psi . And there just isnt any chance in hell a SC is going to make the same hwp as a TT at the same psi level .

Hey..Im sorry..I just realized I high jacked the thread....SORRY AGAIN !!
