GReddy TT Advice

For you TT gurus out there...

I've read threads til I'm blue in the face and still have a couple questions. It sounds like if you dont go too high on the psi you wont have to build the engine. It also sounds like you need to make sure you make a few other changes (ie BOV, etc). So, does this kit have everything I would need, or is there still more?

Second, how much (on average) does it cost to have the kit installed and tuned? I am trying to determine exactly how much I will be out ($$$) by the time I am driving the beast. Thanks!

I've been quoted avg 2100 for install with gauges and no tune. I didn't really shop around though just like 2 places, I would imagine running stock boost and no upgrade's you'd be out at least 10k. And I think that's a lowball guess. From what I've been told, if you add in a new fuel system, upgrade to Emanage Ultimate, there isn't much else you need. If you aren't going to add anything else, have you thought about the APS TT? Given my experience with them, they aren't a great company to deal with, but that's just me. In the end though its a more complete kit and that was my first choice before I decided on something else.

Oh and... I've been told, till I'm blue in the face that if you don't build the motor... keep it at stock boost

If you're not building the engine you definitely want to stay at whichever stock boost level is recommended by the manufacturer. More than likely you'll be at around 7psi. You can always run a little more boost depending on what type of octane you are using as well.

what are your power goals? if you just want to run stock boost, I would go with the APS kit. www.japtrix.com is now an authorized APS vendor and tuner. they are like 1 hour north of Ft. Lauderdale in west palm. the APS TT comes with everything you will need up to 500whp. I believe japtrix will install it for under $2000.

Nothing over the top. The link I posted originally had what looked like a complete kit - GReddy TT, BOV, intercooler, dual exhaust - and was under 6k. I liked the price he was running and it looked like I'd gain 100-125 rwhp with that set up. I know I would be more than happy with that, at least for now . Some extra power, better sounding exhaust, and the sound of the TT kicking in is what I'm going for.
