vortech installed, now what?
I bought the vortech supercharger, and installed greddy evo2 exhaust. I bought the vortech because I read that it is fairly safe on the engine and produces big horsepower...
I have driven it for about 100 miles and I just have to say, is it really safe for the engine? Damn it has a lot of power now. It will redline very easily now, and from the line it feels really powerful. Should I look into protecting the engine more, or can the engine really handle the power?
I will say though, it finally feels like a real freakin sportcar...tons of power and a sound that makes everyone look
I love it

Make sure you keep the oil changed at regular intervals, look into getting synthetic oil rather than regular, always put premium fuel in (even more important now), add some Redline Water Wetter to the radiator fluid, maybe look into getting an enlarged radiator, and always ensure you keep an eye on your gauges for any sign of problems.
And enjoy the ride...

Oops. Sorry, what was I thinking? Here, let me look into my magic 8 ball... No, No again and yet another No. There you have it... the vortech is definitely NOT safe for this guys car. The magic 8 ball has spoken.
^^^ BTW, if you can't tell, we're just having fun. The kit has proven to be safe as long as you have a good install and a good tune. I've heard of 4 or 5 blown engines out of hundreds of Vortech installs. Most were due to individuals doing their own tuning or due to people running really high boost.

More and more people are proving that if you have a super free flowing exhaust, the 2.87 pulley is ok on stock internals. Gspot35 ran the 2.87 pulley for about a year or so before he sold his kit, timrod1011 is another person doing the same. These are the only 2 guys in Central FL that I'm aware of who are doing this but there are many on my350z.com who are also going big.
Yo Neffster, give me a break, I just want to go fast!!!
Anyhow...next question. I had the kit installed, and now I'm am trying to getting it tuned. The guys at the shop are asking me what type of tuning kit I have. I do not have one?
I do not know what they mean? I bought the full vortech kit and the installer told me that the dyno will give me the horsepower and there is no need to tune it, is this correct?
So what does tuning involve. When I call the shop to tune it what should I tell them? Should I buy a tuning kit? I bought the kit from CPRACE and they installed the fuel maps into the computer.
