That's when my Vortech install begins. Here's what I'm getting done:
Polished Vortech Supercharger with 8 psi pulley. w/ SS box
TS L-Spec ECU flash (7100 rpm, no speed governor, Drive By Wire)
Zeitronix A/F, Boost, and EGT w/display
J&S UltraSafeguard
JWT Oil Pan Spacer
Installation and dyno tune will be done by SVS, West Chicago.
I will postpone the Defi D-Gauges for oil and fuel pressure for now. First, I really don't like A-pillar gauges. Since my Zeitronix display is going in the cubby on top of the center console, I want to see if someone could fabricate a dual bracket for where that silly change holder next to where the hazard light button is for the '03 6mts. I'm merely postponing the gauges, because I frankly ran out of money. The electronic Defis are expensive and I want to make sure I have enough for the install and tuning...I do have a budget you know.
Anyway, the J&S Safeguard is a much more important option. Read about it here :http://www.jandssafeguard.com/index.html
It's an additional safety net just in case and it will allow the tuner some flexibility in adjusting the timing. Car should be ready on December 2nd, so don't expect an update until Monday
.
Am I missing anything? Wish me luck!

Is there a metering system out there that can display all this info out of the navigation screen? I don't like the look of gauge pods on the A pillar or any bubblu cases on my dash. If you have a the Nav package or aftermarket LCD screen, I would preffer to see the EGT, F/A, Boost and others on the screen.
Dan K,
High EGTs can spell trouble. This can happen from a number of things from spark plugs, coil packs, etc. Your car has a normal operating range and anything higher should get your attention. When you're putting this kinda money into the car, nothing is too much.
I'll use the Safeguard for timing only and let the SS box do fuel and timing as a last resort. It's a great piece of work that has the ability to retard timing based on boost and rpm and has the feature to retard timing to individual cylinders and not the whole engine if knock is detected. It hears engine knock way before the stock knock sensor could and adjusts timing accordingly. It essentially allows the tuner to tune the car to the verge of knock and then backed off more maximum power. It's a popular timing alternative to the Procharger guys, who didn't have alot of engine management options.
C'mon, what car couldn't benefit from an extra quart of oil if it had the room. The Vortech shares oil with the engine, so why not make an extra quart available?
GDonkey,
Yes, I've seen what you're looking for. You just have to find it on my350z.com. I don't have NAV, so my options are different. Good luck.

Well with all this stuff are you willing to sell the Z tube and pop charger.
Thanks for the concern, Chops...
Install is going well. We totally lost Monday as a install day, so install actually picked up on Tuesday. On Tuesday, the tuner sent the ECU to Technosquare and installed most of the charger and the JWT oil spacer. The problem arised when a replacement MAF housing (original is cracked) didn't arrive on time and the Vortech unit was missing a oil feed line kit. The housing arrived last night at my house and the oil feed line kit and the TS ECU will arrive in the AM tommorrow. I estimate the mechanical part to be complete by early afternoon tommorrow. Next, the SS box, Zeitronix and J and S Safeguard will need to be done. This could take a few hours or a whole day. This could be complete on Thursday, but will likely spill over into Friday. Charles (tuner) said he will only need 2 hours max to tune, so the car could be ready by Friday afternoon. I definately don't want to rush him. I had planned on letting him drive the car around for a day or two to monitor things, but it looks like I'll be doing the testing this weekend myself.
For anyone considering this, make sure your tuner or yourself do a full inventory of the entire supercharger or turbo kit. Something as simple as a clamp could add hours or even days to the install due to Vortech being on the West coast and reluctance to pay overnight charges even though it's their screw up. They offered standard three day shipping, but that wouldn't do. I wound up paying the overnight charges myself. Definitely a hair-pulling experience.

Is Phunk doing your tune?
Oh man just you wait, that first ride is going to be like a 7 year old on Christmas Morning. That's a feeling you just don't get too often when you get older.
I hope the weather is good for you.
Good Luck

Chops,
Phunk (Charles) is doing my tune. I highly recommend him for anyone considering FI. As far as the weather, I'll take it easy even though I have Dunlop M3s. I expressed my concern to Phunk about the cooler temps and he assured me that he'll give it a nice conservative "winter tune."

The Safeguard is around $500 and you'll need a $40 harness. The oil spacer is $99 from Performance Nissan. You could probably do better if you looked around , however; the J&S is only available through J&S.
The car's mechanicals are done. I'm letting Phunk keep the car until Tuesday. This will allow him enough time to do the Zeitronix and J&S and a dyno tune and a little time to drive the car around. I did visit the shop and the install looks very good. He's very meticulous about the install and very informative. He wanted to start the car up, but he had one of the cats off in order to fit the EGT sensor, which he'll put in the header. He'll put the boost sensor in the spare nipple on the plenum. I'll keep you guys posted.
